In August 2023, five countries more than doubled their pre-COVID-19 numbers of tourists coming to Korea. Mexico, with a growth rate of 170%, led the list, partly due to a new direct flight from AeroMexico and heightened interest after Korea's success in the 2018 World Cup. Other countries showing significant growth include Poland, Italy, Turkey, and Spain. Notably, Italy saw more than twice the number of visitors compared to pre-pandemic levels, sparking intrigue.
