The Daegu Modern History Museum, in collaboration with the National Daegu Museum, is hosting a special exhibition titled 'Chimneys of Urban Factories, Machine Sounds – Reading Modern Textile of Daegu' until March 8, 2026. The exhibition explores the history of Daegu as a textile city during the Japanese colonial period, using various scenes to depict not-so-well-known textile factories and their operations. Visitors can see traditional weaving materials, cotton and silk clothes, and historical items like postcards and production orders from the era. The exhibition also includes historical maps of Daegu showing the changes in the textile industry from 1925 to 1962.
