The 'Next Generation Musical Festival - Beyond Daehangno', organized by Company Bom, showcases emerging musical theater on November 15-16. The festival selects young artists who undergo a 9-month creative program, collaborating as a writer-composer-director team. Four musicals were chosen for the showcase, including modern adaptations of Korean classics and new creative works. Highlights include 'Bulho Paengdeok', a reinterpretation of the Korean classic 'Simcheongjeon', and 'Yeo-u, Noo-i', based on a Korean folktale, both of which explore societal themes. Additionally, 'Pilri Buneun Yeoja', inspired by the Salem witch trials, and 'Henrietta Jekyll', a spinoff of 'Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde', feature in this innovative festival that demonstrates Korea's dynamic musical theater potential.
