The esteemed Hagen Quartet, widely regarded as the leading string quartet in the world, will be visiting Korea this November, marking their last scheduled performance in the country before their anticipated retirement in 2026. The quartet, formed by four siblings from the Hagen family in Austria in 1981, will perform at the Lotte Concert Hall on November 9. The program includes Beethoven's String Quartet No. 16, Webern's Five Movements for String Quartet and Six Bagatelles, and Schubert's 'Death and the Maiden'. The performance promises to be a reflective celebration of their illustrious career for chamber music enthusiasts. Known for their extensive discography with Deutsche Grammophon, they have received several international accolades. The Hagen Quartet's final performance will be in 2026 in Salzburg, their hometown.
