Public Vote Determines Cars for KNCAP Assessment in South Korea

The South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, along with the Korea Transportation Safety Authority (TS), announced the results of a public vote to select cars for the 2025 Korean New Car Assessment Program (KNCAP). A total of 7,576 people participated, a 30.2% increase from the previous year. The top voted cars in each category were the Hyundai Ioniq 9 for electric vehicles, Hyundai Palisade for hybrids, and Kia Tasman for internal combustion engines. These vehicles will undergo annual safety assessments. The KNCAP evaluates vehicle safety to enhance crash safety and accident prevention features. TS's director emphasized the importance of public involvement in automotive safety.
