Comedian Isuji's parody video, featuring her wearing a Moncler jacket, led to a surge of secondhand Moncler sales online. The parody, portraying a devoted mother from Daechi-dong (an affluent district in Seoul), went viral with 2.5 million views in a week. Known for its luxurious reputation, Moncler's jackets are often dubbed the 'uniform' of affluent parents in Gangnam. Following the video's popularity, many have opted to sell their high-end coats on resale platforms. The specific model worn by Isuji, priced around 390,000 KRW (~$290 USD), gained significant attention due to its detailed representation of current fashion trends. Founded in 1952 in France, Moncler moved its headquarters to Milan, Italy, in 2003.
