Baemin, a leading food delivery app in South Korea, announced a decrease in intermediary fees from 9.8% to between 2.0% and 7.8%, starting next month. This move aims to alleviate the financial burden on small business owners. The new tiered fee structure will benefit businesses with lower sales, with those in the bottom 20% of sales seeing the greatest reduction. Baemin's initiative is part of an agreement to support smaller vendors and enhance competitiveness. Other delivery apps like Coupang Eats have not yet announced their detailed plans for similar fee reductions.
