Geumdang Island is one of over 250 islands in Wando, South Jeolla Province, South Korea. Known for its stunning natural landscapes, Geumdang was selected in 2021 as a desirable destination by Jeolla Province. The island features unique cliffs and lush fields, with the 'Eight Sceneries of Geumdang' - highlights derived from a centuries-old song by a Joseon Dynasty official. Visitors can enjoy seafood dishes, particularly a rich and flavorful seafood noodle dish called 'jjamppong', advised as a must-try by locals for a complete experience. The island's landscape, sculpted by past volcanic activity, offers scenic views similar to those found in Ulleungdo and Jeju Island. Access to the island is via a ferry from Nokdong or Udo Ports, as there are no direct routes from the main Wando island.
