    Overview

The University of Seoul is a university run by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. Although the tuition fee is cheaper than other universities, it is recognized as one of the best universities in Korea for its excellent faculty and abundant resources.

It is located in the Cheongnyangni-Hoegi commercial area near Kyung Hee University and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. It is fun to walk around and find cheap and delicious restaurants after class.

If you register at the University of Seoul Language Institute, you can have a fun campus life filled with cultural experiences and club activities as well as Korean classes with a great curriculum.

    Why We Recommend It

Since it is the cheapest language school in Seoul, you can reduce your financial burden and still participate in high-quality Korean classes.

You can experience Korean in a variety of ways, such as field trips, cultural experiences, and language exchanges with other students at the school.

It is one of the few language schools that provides the most opportunities to interact with Korean students.

    Document Notarization Guide

    What is document notarization?

It refers to the public recognition of the credibility of documents as they come and go between countries. Notarized documents will be effective as official documents in both countries A and B.

If you wish to use documents issued in country A in country B, you should generally obtain 1) certification from the government agency in country A and 2) certification from the ambassador (consul) of country B in country A.

As the number of Apostille members increases, the above general document notarization process is used only for document exchange with non-apostille members.

The notarization process of documents and the department in charge of notarization may differ by country. Make sure to check the exact process with the information appropriate to your nationality

    What is Apostille?

In order to facilitate the international use of official documents among the members of the Convention, instead of abolishing the consular verification process of foreign missions, the official document issuing country certifies the reliability of the documents. Therefore, in the case of documents certified by the issuing country between the member countries, the official document can be recognized in the other country (the country of use).

Each country has a different government department in charge of issuing apostille. Please contact your local embassy to prepare for the detailed Apostille issuing agency and the issuance process.

    What is a notarized translation?

If the document is in a language that is not recognized by out country, the first thing you need to do is translate it and get a notarization for the translation.

For students that are applying for Korean language schools in Korea, translation into "Korean" or "English" is the most appropriate, and generally, the two tasks are entrusted together to an administrator who is qualified for translation and notarization.

Translation notarization is a procedure to prove that the translated content is not different from the original document.

    Dormitory

    How To Apply

In the application form for admission to the language school, write down that you want to apply for a dormitory.

If you use the Creatrip language school service, we will fill out the application form. Therefore, please let us know in advance whether you would like to apply for a dormitory.

    Assignment method

First-come, first-served assignment method in the order of arrival of documents.

    Things To Keep In Mind

Due to COVID-19, one person must use a room for two people.

The bathroom, shower room, and laundry room are shared.

If you can't make it on a first-come, first-served basis, you can't live in the dormitory, and international students have to find their own place to live.

Residence is guaranteed only for 10 weeks during the regular class period, and international students must find a residence for the period after that, such as the vacation season.

Since the University of Seoul is owned by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Seoul Metropolitan Government can change its own use in case of an emergency. If there are not enough beds to accommodate COVID-19 patients, it is very likely that the entire dormitory building will be changed to a COVID-19 residential treatment center. In this case, the students who lived must 1) relocate to Konkuk University dormitory or 2) receive a refund for the remaining period and prepare their residence personally.

    Price

    Regular semester (10 weeks): 852,500

752,500 is the actual charge, and 100,000 is the deposit.

The University of Seoul district runs from Cheongnyangni station to Hoegi station. There are many small restaurants and cafes around The University of Seoul, but there are not that many franchise restaurants.

Since cafes and restaurants are located between residential areas, it can be difficult for first time visitors to find a variety of places.

When you are looking for somewhere to eat or go, you can always take a look at #시립대맛집 on Instagram to see places that students ate at and recommend.
