Consuming videos, articles, and posts from social media on police brutality takes a physical, emotional, and mental toll on the Black community and there is no way that other communities will full understand the hardship at the moment.
Many of the readers should be aware of the issues from their social media feeds and may question how their favorite boy group and girl group think of this. How are the K-Pop stars reacting to the Black Lives Matter movement? How do they want to show support for the movement?
Korean Artists Supporting Black Lives Matter
Jae from Day6 and Mark from GOT7 donated money openly to the Minnesota Freedom Fund and the George Floyd Memorial Fund, which contributed to raising their voice in the K-Pop industry.

BTS and ARMY Raising Awareness and $1 Million for the BLM Movement

On June 8th, BTS donated $1 million to Black Lives Matter after their fans flooded hashtags to support the movement.
They previously tweeted "We stand against discrimination. We condemn violence. You and I and we all have the right to be respected. We will stand together." BTS' fandom, also known as ARMY, carried out organizing online protests along with other K-pop fans on behalf of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Their major activism began to appear on May 31st after Dallas policed tweeted, asking for the citizens to help: "If you have video of illegal activity from the protests and are trying to share it ... you can download our iWatch Dallas app. You can remain anonymous." and BTS fan account @7soulsmap retweeted right after saying "THAT'S WHY YALL NEED TO COVER THEIR FACES PLEASE COVER THEIR FACES."
Even though the account had less than 550 followers, this tweet was retweeted more than 25,200 times with 46,000 likes. They started to flood over the iWatch Dallas app with unrelated GIFs and videos of K-pop stars dancing and singing. After their countless unrelated reports, the app crashed not long after.
Also, ARMY has successfully raised $1 million with the hashtag of #MatchTheMillion on social media; they are contributing to match the amount BTS donated to the community.

Meanwhile, the protest against the death of George Floyd by the coercive arrest of white police in the United States is spreading all over the world. There was a rally in Myeongdong, Seoul too.
