A fancy cafe with mature aesthetics is tucked in the alley right next to the main gate of Ewha Womans University. Pera is a quiet and spacious cafe with 3 floors. Classical music is subtly played in the background making it an excellent spot for students to study and relax. It is a foreigner-friendly cafe as it has English on their menu. But most of all, their signature strawberry tart was what made the customers visit again and again.

Review
This is a four-storey building, but cafe Pera starts from the second floor and ends on the fourth, making it a three-storey cafe.
Once you go up the stairs, the first thing you see is this bright display cabinet of cakes. My attention was drawn to the strawberry tart. It looked so tasty and I wanted to sink my teeth right into it. Other cakes looked delicious as well.
My friend and I ordered a slice of strawberry tart, a slice of a crepe cake, iced Americano and fresh strawberry juice. While I was waiting, I looked around the place.
The first floor of Pera had 4 tables. The golden frame with an elegant painting of flowers on the wall made the place feel like an art gallery. The paintings were really beautiful with its use of vivid colours, and the yellow lighting set the mood.
On the way to the second floor, I saw a big vase with roses. Next to it was blankets placed neatly on a chair. Pera provides blankets for those who might be cold.
The second floor is a spacious room with many tables. On the left, there was a cave-like room and inside were three tables. All of them were taken. It looked like a popular space to study.
The third floor also had a spacious room with many seats, but it had a terrace. You can see Ewha Womans University at a glance. There were a good number of students showing that this is a popular cafe for students to enjoy a cup of coffee and study.
When our order came out, I couldn't take my eyes off the plate ware. It looked like a posh, vintage tea-time accessory from England.
I did not expect our drinks to be given in this jar-like jugs. Such unique and different ways to serve individual drinks!
The iced americano consisted of 2 shots of espresso and had a dark nutty flavour. I'm the type who doesn't like sour and acidic americano so it was just my style.
My friend chose this seasonal juice. Strawberries were in season when we went, but in summer it will change to watermelon. However, we think the strawberries were not fresh and they tasted sour. So I would recommend you guys to pick something else.
For the crepe cake, I had very high expectations as I like crepe cakes and have had marvellous crepe cakes before. Sadly, it did not reach my expectations. The crepe cream was on the thick side and the crepe layer was a bit on the dry side. So I recommend you to try something different.
Now for the strawberry tart. Because the crepe cake was a letdown, my expectations for their strawberry tart was low. However, thankfully this was a great tasting strawberry tart. I was worried that the thick, shiny glaze covering the strawberry would taste artificial, but it tasted really gentle and sweet. You understand why their signature dessert is strawberry tart. The strawberry, cheese cream and biscuits were just delightful and delicious.

If you want to study in a quiet cafe inside a classy atmosphere, this cafe is perfect for you and enjoy their delicious strawberry tart! Because it is right next to Ewha Womans University, the cafe is usually full of girls. It is a little pricey, but I feel it's worth it due to its atmosphere.
