Kim Jae-Joong's April Fool's Prank

On April 1, Kim posted on his Instagram account with 1.9 million followers that he was infected with COVID-19 and that he was hospitalized. Soon after the first posting, he made another posting which stated that it was not meant to be a joke, rather, it was to raise awareness to protect each other from the pandemic. Quickly after, a petition to the Blue House was filed asking for penalizing him for spreading fake news.
A government official remarked on this case during an ordinary briefing, that it's hard to legally punish him through the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.
Jung Yun-Ho's Mask Invention

On March 26th, the Korean Intellectual Property Office announced that Jung Yun-Ho, a member of TVXQ, registered a patent for a new type of mask. This new type of mask has a lid on it, and you can drink or talk with other people without taking your mask off. His hobby is to invent new items, and had registered a special type of cup in 2017.

Woo Ji Yoon Decides to Leave BOL4

On April 2nd, Woo Ji-Yoon, the guitarist of BOL4, posted a handwritten letter on her social media account. She started her letter, thanking the fans for all the love they have given. However, she had talked with her band member and her friend Ahn Ji-young over this issue for a long time, and finally have decided to leave the team.
Ahn Ji-young will continue BOL4 as a single member band.
Jeon So-Min Taking a Break from Running Man

Actress Jeon So-Min is receiving hospital treatment due to severe fatigue and will take rest for a month. On March 30th, while filming for Running Man she felt physical abnormality and was taken to hospital. Doctors have advised her to take plenty of rest, and she has decided to not participate in Running Man episodes for a month.
Jeon So-Min's agency has cleared out that she doesn't have COVID-19.
Jang Mi-Inae Criticizes the Government and Announces Retirement

On, March 30th, actress Jang Mi-Inae posted on her Instagram criticizing emergency disaster relief assistance of ￦1,000,000 per household and called it a jaeang, meaning disaster in Korean and often used to mock President Moon. Soon after, she wrote a long letter defending her remark as a just claim as a citizen and announcing her retirement as an actress in Korea.
Jang Mi-Inae is famous for her criminal record of illegal propofol injection.
Ahn Bo-Hyeon Still Sleeps in His Descendents of the Sun Military Uniform.

On March 27th's episode of "I Live Alone", Ahn Bo-Hyeon woke up with his old military shirt from Descendants of the Sun, which he wore from 2016. Ahn Bo-Hyeon recently co-starred on Itaewon Class as the main villain and quickly gathered popularity. In this episode, he showed his easygoing way of life and amazing boxing skills.

Jeon Somi's New Lamborghini

On March 28, Jeon Somi showcased her new car in the first episode of 'I AM SOMI'. This episode features her graduation day and on the preview of the next episode, she waves her hand out the window of her brand new Lamborghini. It soon became an issue, since the car costs over ￦250 million. There was a debate between 'a ￦250 million car is too much for a twenty-year-old' vs 'she gets to decide where she spends her money'.
Jeon Somi's agency clarified that the car is not hers and the background story will be released on the next episode of 'I AM SOMI'.
Wheesung, Found Unconscious in a Public Restroom

On April 1st, Wheesung was found unconscious in a public toilet with a syringe and a bottle of unidentified fluid around him. After he recovered consciousness he was taken to the police station. The drug tests showed negative and police determined it was just a type of anesthetic drug. The fluid was determined to be etomidate, which has a similar effect to propofol, but unlike propofol, it is completely legal in Korea.
Wheesung has been getting investigated for illegal uses of drugs since 2013.
Kang Jiyoung Gets into a Car Accident

On April 1st, former member of KARA's Kang Jiyoung got into a car accident while returning from a film shoot. Her agency announced that her condition is not severe, but will not return to film shoot anytime soon. Perpetrator was drunk and violated a traffic signal, which caused the accident.
The drama, named Yasik-Namnyuh (야식남녀), was going to be her first drama in Korea after a long acting career in Japan.
