Supermarket Holidays in August 2019

This post will note all the days that major supermarket/department stores will be closed in August 2019. Make sure you avoid these dates if you're planning an afternoon of shopping at the supermarket or department stores.

Lotte Mart August 2019 Holidays

Lotte Mart is be closed on Sundays of the second and fourth weeks of the month. Thus they will be closed 08/11 and 08/25 this month. Their typical business hours are 10:00 - 24:00.

Here are the hours of several Lotte Mart stores. The business hours can differ by location; refer to the list below.

In addition to the stores listed below，all Lotte Marts are open 10:00 - 23:00

1. Seoul Station (서울역점)：10:00 - 24:00
2. Majang Rest Station (마장휴게소점)：10:00 - 20:00
3. Yeongjongdo (영종도점)：10:00 - 22:30
4. Gyeonggi Yangpyeong (경기양평점)：10:00 - 22:00
5. Jecheon (제천점)：10:00 - 22:00
6. Seocheongju (서청주점)：10:30 - 23:00
7. Deokjin (덕진점)：10:00 - 22:00
8. Dongsanbu (동부산점)：10:00 - 22:00

The holidays in August are a bit different by region. Stores in Seoul, Incheon and Busan are all closed on 08/11 and 08/25 (Sundays), but the holidays may be different in other regions such as Ulsan, Gyeonggi Province, etc.

1. Hangdang Store (행당점) August Public Holidays: 08/14, 08/28 (Wednesday）
2. Jeju Store (제주점) August Public Holidays: 08/09 (Friday), 08/24 (Saturday）

E-Mart August 2019 Holidays

E-Mart is another big supermarket brand sought out by many foreign visitors. E-Mart's holidays are also typically on the second and fouth week of the month.

E-Mart will be closed also on 08/11 (Sunday), 08/25 (Sunday). The branches of E-Mart and No Brand in Seoul, Busan, Daegu and Incheon (except Incheon Airport) will be closed on those dates.

In other cities, E-Mart also has some branches, or its No Brand brand stores. Their closed dates are the following:

• Dongdaemun Store：08/01、08/02、08/03
• Daegu Store：08/19（Monday）
• All Jeju Stores：08/09 (Friday), 08/24 (Saturday)

Home plus August 2019 Holidays

Home plus is becoming increasingly popular among foreign visitor, especially the big on near Hongdae.

Homeplus stores in Seoul, Incheon, and Busan are closed also in the second week and fourth week of the month: 08/11, 08/25 (Sunday).

Lotte Department Store and Duty Free August 2019 Holidays

Lotte Department Store is a department store that many people will definitely visit. The most popular one is the branch in Myeongdong. Lotte Department Store will be closed on 08/05 (Monday).

Lotte Department Store is usually open until 8:30 pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and until 8:00 on weekdays. The Lotte Duty Free Shop is open all year round and has longer opening hours than the department store, from 09:30 to 21:00.

Hyundai Department Store, U-Plex August 2019 Holidays

Hyundai Department Store is loved by Koreans and tourists alike. Almost all Hyundai stores are open from 10:30 to 20:30, and will be closed on 08/05.

2. Shinchon：08/05
3. Cheonho：08/05
4. Apgujeong：08/05
5. Busan：08/05
6. Daegu：08/05

The U-Plex department store is focused on trendier styles and has more affordable brands. There's one in Shinchon (closed 08/05), and business hours are from 10:30 to 22:00.

A small reminder, just because a brand is Korean in U-Plex doen't mean that they're necessarily more affordable.

Shinsegae August 2019 Holidays

Shinsegae is perhaps less popular, but it's pretty high-quality and is still a must-see for many tourists.
The Shinsegae Department Store in Myeongdong will be closed August 08.

Business hours of the Shinsegae Department Store is usually from 10:30 to 20:00, and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the hours are extended to 20:30.
