Many people who travel to Korea alone will find it daunting to eat Korean BBQ as they always require 2 or more portions. However, with this restaurant, that problem is solved!
Ther reason they named their restaurant Yugcheobbansang is that Yugcheob in Korean means six and bansang means menu. Hence there are 6 dishes on one tray. The set menu (picture above) from your left has a title of "Don't starve", "Enjoy alone" and "No odour after eating". Isn't it catchy and persuasive? So now you can enjoy your one-person Korean BBQ.
The set menu also comes with other essentials for Korean BBQ like lettuce, pepper and perilla leaf. This restaurant has a special pickup method. After ordering your food at the counter, the cashier will direct you to register your mobile phone number. The waiters won’t bring your meal to you, but instead, a message will be sent to your mobile phone saying your order is ready to pick up. If you don’t have a Korean mobile phone number, just tell the cashier, and he or she will notify you when the food is ready.

And the main reason is that there are no chairs here! Not only are there no chairs, but the price is high as it serves premium hanwoo (Korean beef).
So why is this place famous, you might ask? It's because of its unforgettable taste that can only be eaten here. It won't be expensive compared to other hanwoo restaurants as people have to eat while standing up.
This place has gotten so popular you have to line up almost every time because there are so many people coming that they limit the dining time to 1 hour to accommodate the high influx of customers.
The unusualness does not stop here. They only sell hanwoo, so if you want to eat the meat with lettuce, rice, kimchi, etc., you need to bring your own! Thankfully they do provide you with sauces and garlic, but that's it. For those who want rice, you have to go to the nearest convenience store, buy the ready-made rice, put it in the microwave and bring it back. Sounds a bit absurd, doesn't it?
I do have one last thing to mention, and that is the air ventilator here is very weak, so when you finish eating and come out of the restaurant, your whole body will smell like BBQ. There are plastic bags where you can put your belongings in to prevent the smell from getting to them. Even with all these quirky rules, once you've tasted the meat at this place, you'll understand why so many people willingly go through with it.
