If you are applying to the Language Institute at Korea University, you can apply for the dormitory (residence hall) operated by Korea University!
Both financially and in terms of location, you probably wonder at least once whether you should apply for a 'dormitory.'
I would like to introduce the dormitories of Korea University

Location
There are several dormitories on the Korea University campus,
Students attending the Korean Language Center at Korea University will need to apply to the 프런티어관 (Frontier Hall)

I think you'll understand if you look at the map, but since it's surrounded by mountains... You'll end up going uphill... It seems like it'll be good exercise.
This large building is the Frontier Hall

Men are on the left side and women are on the right side, with safety also being taken into consideration
Dormitory (Boarding House) Interior

There is always security staff stationed at the entrance, so you can feel safe in terms of security

The delivery packages were gathered on the first floor
Since they are gathered right in front of the security staff, there doesn’t seem to be any worry about theft
There are also computers and copy machines available, and you can use them freely. It's convenient for quick printing or looking things up!
Inside the Room
The rooms are lined up on both sides of the hallway

The room felt very bright because a lot of natural light came in through the large windows!
Since there is a desk by the window, it seems like an environment where you can really focus on studying

In the room
- Desk
- Bed
- Closet
- Window
- Air conditioner
is installed, and storage space is also provided in the bed and desk.
You can see that there is a mirror and Wi-Fi installed on the machine.
The shower room is also clean, and above all, I'm super happy that the shower and toilet are separated‼
You don't need to worry about the floor on the toilet side getting sticky even after taking a shower
Shared Facilities
Laundry Room

The washing machine is not in the room, but you can use the shared washing machine
There were 7 washing machines on the right side and 7 dryers on the left side!

The instructions for using the washing machine and dryer are clearly indicated with numbers, so it seems you can use them even if you can't read Korean

The usage method of the washing machine seems fine since the numbers are displayed, but isn't the difficult part how to purchase this card?
The usage fee for the washing machine and dryer is 1,200 won per use (as of 2025), but the fee must be paid with a special card.
① How to Purchase a Dedicated Card
- Insert 1,000 won for the card purchase fee
- Press the purchase button (red round button)
- Take the special card when it comes out
② How to Load a Dedicated Card
- Place the dedicated card you just purchased into the charge slot (카드 충전.배출구)
- Insert the amount of money you want to charge (※Only 1,000 won, 5,000 won, and 10,000 won bills can be used)
- Press the charge button (red round button)
*Up to 30,000 won can be charged
Observation Room

A viewing room is also available inside the dormitory. If you want to concentrate on studying, using the viewing room is recommended
We also saw students actually using it!
Lounge

In the lounge featuring impressive large windows, you can relax in a comfortable space filled with sunlight

There’s also a water purifier On the water purifier, it says “No eating ramen!” (lol)
You can throw away garbage without sorting it, except for raw garbage.
Cafeteria

There is a convenience store and a cafeteria in the building right next to the Frontier Hall

There were no students present since it was break time during the visit, but it's quite a spacious area, isn't it?

It seems that you can eat here in a buffet style

There is also a unique ramen machine from Korea, which is convenient when you want to eat easily

What surprised me was this section!
Vegetable sticks, protein drinks, yogurt, and more are available for sale, making it a great selection for those who are mindful of their health
Summary
In the case of Korea University's dormitory, the drawback is that you can only stay for up to one semester, but the dormitory is comfortable and, above all, since it is on campus, you can shorten your commute time
If you are attending a language school, please also consider applying for a dormitory.
That concludes the introduction to the dormitories of Korea University!
