The most famous location of Sky Castle is the Villa where the upper 1% lived.

In fact, this is a high-end residential area in Yongin priced at more than 4B KRW (Approx. 3.7M USD). Because of the influence of Sky Castle, many people come and visit this place. 

With a European architecture style of the Middle Ages, this Villa gives off an "unreachable city in the sky" vibe. It must be nice to have an opportunity to live in such a big house.

AY Lounge appeared in the second episode of Sky Castle. Other Korean dramas were also filmed here like Backstreet Rookie and 18 Again. Usually, AY Lounge is a restaurant where you can visit with friends for a change of scenery.  

Of course, if you are in a bad mood you can drink and talk here like the fathers of Ye Seo and Young Jae.

For anyone who's seen Sky Castle, must have an opinion about the scene at the end of the first episode, where the mother dies by suicide with a gun.

This was filmed at Reina Golf Club/Resort in Damyang. 

The mansion that Yoon Seri's father owned in Crash Landing On You was also filmed here. 

DONGTAN HANLIM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Where is Joo-Nam University Hospital? This hospital doesn't actually exist in Korea. But the scenes were filmed at Dongtan Hanlim Hospital in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do. 

This is where most of the fathers (except for the twins) work. This hospital is a bit of a joke. 

SAPOON SAPOON

The scenes in the third, and tenth episode of Sky Castle were filmed at Sapoon Sapoon, which is on the first floor of a business building in Gangnam. 

Remember the plot of these scenes? 

That's right, this is when Hye Na proposed to be Ye Bin's tutor. In the editor's opinion, the real tone of this cafe is different than how it is portrayed in the drama. People generally leave Sapoon Sapoon feeling good.

Location: Itaewon Station (이태원역)

Knowing the truth that Se Ri is deceiving everyone that she got into Harvard University, the mother of the twins run wild on the streets of Itaewon.

I wonder if everyone still remembers this scene? The cool tones fit the vibe of Sky Castle.   

Sky Castle wasn't the only drama filmed in Itaewon. Itaewon Class, a drama about friend that adventure together, was also filmed here!

Kim Joo Young's secretary meets with Ye Seo's mother, where she learned the unacceptable truth. This famous scene was filmed at Bover Lounge, near Myeongdong Station. 

It had an impressive and gorgeous style, and they served coffee, simple meals, and desserts. People used to come to this restaurant to celebrate special events like birthdays.

Unfortunately, Bover Lounge is now closed. We are unsure if they closed due to the pandemic, or if the closure was originally planned. But I hope Bover Lounge will re-open since it was such a special restaurant.

These scenes from the tenth episode of Sky Castle was filmed at Boondocks. 

You order near the entrance of Boondocks by the green door. I found travel notes from other Korean people. There are also dogs that hang around this cafe. Definitely worth a visit! 

SEONJAEDO

Address: 인천 옹진군 영흥면 선재리

Seonjae-do did not appear on screen, but in the 14th episode Hye Na asks Ye Seo's father if he has been to Seonjae-do and wants to take Ye Seo there to play.

Seonjae- do is actually pretty far from Seoul but has unique scenery. This was not a popular tourist spot until it was mentioned on the drama.

In Sky Castle, when Seung Hye finally gets the courage to leave her abusive husband. She takes her children and leaves a divorce note at Sonamu restaurant located in Mapo-gu.  

Sonamu is a traditional Korean restaurant, when you get the chance you should come visit it! 

Although Sonamu only appeared in the 18th episode for a few moments, we cannot imagine how popular it has gotten due to the influence of this drama! 

These were the filming location of the popular Korean drama Sky Castle. This drama is a classic that mocks social reality, test pressure, and family ethics. The drama that followed Sky Castle, was The World of the Married.
