Yejeon | The Delicious Western Restaurant As Seen In K-Drama 'It's Okay To Not Be Okay'
The popular drama, It's Okay To Not Be Okay was very radical. It's a great drama about people who grow up little by little, understanding and acknowledging each other's wounds.
It is popular in many countries outside of Korea.
Wolmido Island is famous for its beautiful beaches and traditional amusement parks that many people from Seoul come to visit.
That's why It's Okay To Not Be Okay filmed several scenes in the area. So let's take a look at some of the more attractive places, including a delicious Western-style restaurant.
If you walk straight along the coast from the entrance of Wolmi Theme Park, you will see a nostalgic-looking restaurant on your left.
If you take a taxi from Incheon Station, you will have to use the side street to get to the restaurant (cars can't drive there).
It is clearly indicated on the front of the restaurant that the drama filmed scenes here. They are proud of it!
The government identifies this restaurant as "foreigner-friendly." So foreigners come here often and devour the many delicious dishes.
You'll find out later in the blog why they received this proud badge from the government.
The interior is very eye-catching! The chairs are so antique-looking, it's like a blast from the past.
I went there after making a reservation, so I was automatically guided to this seat.

It was around 11:30 a.m. on a Sunday, but there were two other guests besides us. Apparently we weren't the only ones who wanted to beat the crowd.
Many customers came in while we were eating, so if you really want to reserve this seat, you can make a Naver reservation first, visit early in the day, or come on weekdays.
In the drama, there was only one table in the middle by the big window, but actually there were two tables.
Now, because of Corona's influence (social distance), it can be harder to get this seat because restaurants tend to leave every other table empty these days.
When I looked at the menu, I immediately understood why it was called a "foreigner-friendly restaurant."
The menu comes in English, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese!
The staff were extremely kind and made the atmosphere very calm and relaxed.
There is also a coffee and tea menu that you can enjoy if you aren't necessarily hungry and just want to enjoy the atmosphere and scenery.
Let's take a walk around the restaurant!
Oh! This is where they filmed the scene where they were fighting over the bill. Recognize the velvety chairs?

Moon-young was eating alone in this room.
Overall, it is built with luxurious furniture like an old European house, and it has an atmosphere that makes you want to dress up and cosplay a regal lunch.
The course menu began with the salad, soup, and bread. All of them were delicious and wet my palette in preparation for the main course.
I think the server was watching us, because as soon as we were comfortably finished, the main course appeared.
Pork Cutlet 14,000 won
Lunch Special 22,000 won

It's a Korean-style pork cutlet exactly like the one I saw in the drama. The sauce is plentiful and savory!

I tried to cut it just like Gang-tae cut it for his brother, Sang-tae. Did I do well?
The lunch special includes not only pork cutlet, but also shellfish, beefsteak, and fried fish, making it very luxurious!
The beef was so tender and delicious that I couldn't believe it was available for such a low price.
I think I ate just as much as they did!

I'll never forget this touching scene from the drama after they had finished eating. It's great to see brothers taking care of each other.

Everything was so soft and not greasy. Everything went down smoothly and settled comfortably.
My plate was wiped clean! It was so delicious.
I had to walk on these velvet coated steps to reach the register to pay.
The first floor is very old, but stylish and sophisticated.
There was a lot of available wine. Wine lovers can get a bottle and enjoy views of the ocean through the window. Sounds perfect, right?
This alleyway was used for filming. It's easy to see why! It's so picturesque.

I was very excited to be able to come to this place, which was used for such a touching scene.
What's Around The Restaurant
As soon as you leave the restaurant, you will see the ocean and Wolmido Theme Park!
To the left, you can see the longest bridge in Korea connecting Yeonjung Island, where Incheon Airport is located, and Songdo, the luxury town of Incheon. There are a lot of ships and you can see a lot of seagulls.
There is something for everyone of all ages to enjoy here! Even the adults can enjoy the bumper cars.
There is no admission fee! You can wait in line or get a fast-pass to reserve a specific time for a particular ride you want. That way, you can walk around the park and wait for your reservation time.
This Ferris wheel often appears on variety shows and dramas.

A lot of people are waiting to ride!
What do you think we're all here to do?
We're gathering to ride "Disco Pan!"
This is a popular ride all over the world. It is especially popular here at Wolmido Amusement Park. The announcer makes funny comments throughout the entire ride.
The ride spins so hard that I was dizzy and couldn't tell where I was! And the announcer was particularly memorable.
Amusement parks around Korea try to copy the experience, but nothing compares to the experience at Wolmido. It's fun to ride and it's fun even just to sit and experience other people riding it.
Nearby, you can also find Incheon's Chinatown, another great area for tourists.
There are many great places to eat and hang out here.
Dongincheon Station, which is back in the direction of Seoul, has a restaurant where Moon-young was eating steak in the first episode of It's Okay To Not Be Okay.
