The Korean word 인생샷 (insaeng shot - literally “life shot”) is a buzzword that means ”the shot in my life where I look the best”. Many Koreans put in a lot of effort to get the perfect picture.
And we can understand them. We also want to document our experience when we find ourselves in a beautiful and magical place.
We have listed some of the hottest places in Korea where you can take your insaeng shot!
Pocheon Art Valley
포천 아트밸리
IG @ eunso_om
Pocheon is one of the cities in Gyeonggi province which surrounds Seoul and Incheon.

The Art Valley, hugely popular among Koreans, was in the past the place of a granite quarry, and what was mined there was called Pocheon Stone.
This place was also used as a setting for the K-drama The Legend of the Blue Sea.

The area has now been transformed to a beautiful park, and you’d be pressed to find any trace of the quarry.

It is said that the sturdy and beautiful stones mined from the old quarry were used when building the President’s Blue House, the National Diet Building, Incheon Airport and many other buildings in Korea!

These characters will meet you when you arrive.
To make things better, there is also a cable car and the Astronomical Science Museum to enjoy here!

You can get here by public transport, but you would have to change a couple of times. If possible, car or taxi would be the more convenient options.
Railway infrastructure construction to Pocheon is current on-going, and in the future it will be possible to get here by train.
If you chose to come her via taxi, grabbing one from Seoul Metro Line 4 end station Danggogae would likely be the fastest option, taking approximately 40 minutes.

Miryang is famous for giving birth to the Miryang Arirang, one of the three most famous versions of the Korean folk song. It also has a number of historical remains.
Located in the southern part of Korea, it is ideal for a day-trip from Busan!

The reason why many Koreans visit Miryang these days is the Wiyang Pond, a place ideal for taking the picture of your life!

The place was used as a setting for the K-drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, and the popular drama has been a contributing factor to its rising popularity.

The pond is said to have been constructed sometime between Unified Silla and the Goryeo Dynasty (700-1300).
Why not head out to find places from the drama for a memorable picture?

On the way to Miryang Dam from Busan, you can find this famous rock.

However, even Koreans have troubles finding the exact spot, so it might be a good idea to have a knowledgeable Korean do the driving, or ask a local taxi driver to take you there.

Goseong Sangjokam

Sangjokam, located in Goseong County, is close to Busan just like Mirang. Here you find a rocky coastal terrace, created by the waves of the sea, where you can get some stunning pictures.

The park was named from the sedimentary rock formations which look like table legs (sangjok).
You can find footprints from dinosaurs Sangjokam when walking along the rock terrace! These footprints were declared a Korean Natural Monument (no. 411) in 1999.
As you can see from the pictures, the sea waves can reach your feet during high tide, so make sure to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting wet.
