Two people who were rescued from cars trapped in a submerged underpass died during treatment when heavy rain poured at over 80mm per hour in Busan. The city center has turned into a sea of water due to the rain and high tide.

Another man, who was doing draining work, was found dead in the underpass by a 119 rescuer.

Landslides, retaining wall collapses, houses and underground roadways were flooded, and more than 10 people were isolated and rescued, causing dozens of victims.

Some sections of trains and subway were suspended and trains passed without making stops at flooded subway stations.

At around 20:18 on July 24th, several vehicles were locked at a Busan underpass located in Choryang-dong, Dong-gu. At the time there were 8 people and they failed to open their car doors as the water suddenly blew. 119 rescuers helped get the people out.

A man believed to be in his 60s and a woman believed to be in her 30s were found at the state of drowning and were transferred to a hospital while undergoing CPR, but died.

In a similar timeframe, three people were swept away by a torrent in the Novotel underground parking lot in Haeundae.

A landslide occurred on the back of a road in Gijang-gun and one person was rescued.
