Korean Celebrity Siblings | Famous & Less Known

When we think of South Korean celebrities, beautiful stars with outstanding charisma comes to mind.

But what about the brothers and sisters of these K-stars? Are they equally good-looking and charming? 

To satisfy our curiosity, in this article we will take a look at Korean celebrity siblings. Some of them can frequently be seen on TV programs, just like their more famous brother or sister, whereas some we only know through small cameos.

KIM TAE-HEE & LEE WAN

Kim Tae-hee has continued her acting career after marrying famous singer-actor Rain, and she has been seen in many productions and commercials.

Kim Tae-hee, who is known for her beauty, has a younger brother, the actor Lee Wan.

From a young age, the two siblings were known for their good looks, and the two of them sure still look gorgeous.

The siblings starred together in the 2003 drama Stairway to Heaven, and they gained a lot of attention as their characters aged several years throughout the drama, which meant that they had to play both young and adult characters.

This was also the acting debut for Lee Wan.

GO EUN-AH & MIR (MBLAQ)

Another brother and sibling duo is Go Eun-ah and Mir from the K-pop group MBLAQ.

The 3-year older sister and her little brother are very close to each other, and they created a bit of a stir among fans when they kissed each other on-screen some years ago.

Go Eun-ha has appeared on several variety shows lately where she talks about how her little brother usually worries about her when she is out drinking.

Mir’s YouTube channel also started out with him appearing with his older sister. It still focuses largely on his family, so fans can get the latest status report by watching it.

HAN SUNHWA & SEONG-WOO (VICTON)

Former member of the girl group Secret, Han Sunhwa was recently seen starring in the drama Backstreet Rookie.

Han Sunhwa has a 4 years younger brother named Han Seung-woo, who is a member of the boy group VICTON (the latest group from Play M Entertainment since Apink’s debut 5 years ago).

On recent radio shows Seung-woo has described his relationship with his older sister, saying that they rarely fought while growing up, and that she is always looking after him.

PARK SHIN-HYE & PARK SHIN-WON

Did you know that star actress Park Shin-hye has an older brother? If you follow her Instagram, you can often see the two of them together.

Park Shin-hye will from time to time upload selfies with her brother from family trips. Other times she will write that she finally persuaded her shy brother to go for a walk together.

Her older brother Park Shin-won is a musician who in the past was in charge of guitar and arrangement for one of B1A4’s albums.

SANDARA PARK & THUNDER (MBLAQ)

Former 2NE1 member Sandara Park’s 6 years younger brother is no other than MBLAQ’s Thunder.

The two siblings will often post pictures with the two of them on social media, and are often seen praising and supporting each other.

Both known for their beautiful looks, many Korean women will sigh and wish that they could have such a handsome-looking younger brother.

CHANYEOL (EXO) & PARK YOO-RA

Chanyeol and his band Exo need no further introduction to K-pop fans, but did you know that he has a four-year older sister, the TV announcer Park Yoo-ra?

Chanyeol’s sister will from time to time put a smile on the face of Exo fans by posting pictures of the two of them together. 

For his sister’s wedding, Chanyeol sang a song that had guests burst out in tears.  

On the picture below, TV announcer Park Yoo-ra can be seen announcing that Exo’s new album at the time broke new sales records. It must have been an emotional moment of immense pride for her.

CHAE-YEON (IZ*ONE) & CHAERYEONG (ITZY)

This sister duo became famous from a young age for their outstanding dance skills, something they have showcased in auditions shows on TV.

Their performances soon earned the praise and recognition of many established K-pop stars. 

Chaeyeon finished top 12 in the Japanese-Korean reality competition show Produce 48, earning her a spot in the now word-famous girl group IZ*ONE.

And her sister Chaeryeong made her debut in 2019 as main dancer for ITZY, a girl group formed by JYP Entertainment with a lot of hype around them.

Born only a year apart, the two sisters were often mistaken for each other when they grew up, and many still struggle with telling them apart.

ZICO (BLOCK B) & WOO TAEWOON

Block B member Ziko, who also does a lot of solo projects, has a two-year older brother, the rapper and singer Taewoon (also known as ₩uNo). 

Both of the brothers are active in the music field.

In 2017, the two brothers appeared together in the variety show Happy Together, where big brother Woo Taewoon revealed that he too was originally supposed to debut as a member of Block B.   

However, when it was decided that Zico was to become the leader of Block B, Taewoon thought that having him around might have a negative impact on Zico’s authority over the rest of the members, and he decided to leave the group.

Many fans are excited about possible future collaborations between the two brothers.

JEONGYEON (TWICE) & GONG SEUNG-YEON

After her younger sister’s success in TWICE, actress Seung-yeon’s popularity has been on the rise, and the two sisters are now both well known.  

The two sisters were invited as hosts for an episode of the music program Inkigayo, and fans were in awe over their perfect performance.  

To make things even better, their father, Yoo Chang-joon, is a famous chef who has starred in popular TV program Please Take Care of My Refrigerator, where he has showcased his skills both as a chef and as an eloquent speakers. It seems like all family members are sizzling stars! 

MINO (WINNER) & DANAH (NEW.F.O)

Winner’s Mino is know not only for his rapping skills, but he is also a popular guest in variety shows. He has a one year younger sister called Danah.

Danah works as a model and idol and is frequently seen in different music videos.

The two of them are very close, and when they go out for a walk together, some will think of them as a couple rather than siblings.

MOONBIN (ASTRO) & MOON SUAH

Moon Suah was revealed to be the younger sister of Astro’s Moonbin when she performed in a rapper contestion show, much to the delight of the viewers.

Born only a year apart, the two both chose to pursue careers within the music industry, and they are said to be both close and supportive of each other.

Currently, Suah is a trainee hoping to make her big debut one day.

YUNA (AOA) & SEOYUL (BERRY GOOD)

Seoyul has said that she started dreaming of becoming a singer after watching older sister Yuna perform with her band AOA, and she finally made her idol debut with the girl group Berry Good in 2014. 

The two sisters not only look strikingly similar, their singing voices are also similar!

For a long time, the two of them were busy pursuing their respective careers, but last year they made up their minds to do something together and started the YouTube channel Yunari TV (유나리TV).

DOYOUNG (NCT) & GONG MYUNG

Boy group NCT’s Doyoung has a two years older brother in the actor Gong Myung.

Many Koreans were surprised to find out that the two are brothers after a segment in the variety show Hello Counselor.

In the show, Doyoung teased his older brother who was seen crying in a clip where he was asked to appear with his brother.

Although they look very much alike, they say that they have opposite personalities.

SUNGYEOL (INFINITE) & DAEYEOL (GOLDEN CHILD)

These two brothers also look strikingly similar to each other. Just looking at their facial features and similarly broad shoulders, there’s no doubt that they come from the same family. 

What’s more, they even work for the same entertainment agency!  

On a TV show, Sungyeol once jokingly said about his brother: “I have no idea why they they chose him as the leader!”, referring to Daeyeol being picked as the leader of Golden Child.

Although they like to tease each other, it is clear that they are good friends.

JESSICA & KRYSTAL

Many of our readers will know of the sister duo Jessica (former Girl’s Generation member) and Krystal of f(x).

Looks, manners and way of speaking, the two are similar in many ways!

The sisters have featured in many TV programs, attracting attention from both within and outside South Korea.

With this last sister duo, we will wrap up this list. Many siblings on the list sure look alike, don’t they?

We also enjoyed learning about how many of them look after each other. Like the proverb “blood is thicker than water”, it’s great to see how many celebrities put family first.
