University Sweethearts: CC | Dating Someone From the Same School? Let's See How Romance Life is like as a CC in Korea When the cherry blossom season starts in Korea, you can find so many couples holding hands and strolling down the park or streets to enjoy the nice weather.

With that, lots of students find their significant other on the same campus and become one of the new campus couples. CC is a Korean slang word, an acronym for "campus couple", which means couples who are attending the same university.

Today, I would like to cover the pros and cons of being a CC.

Seeing Each Other Everyday

You can see each other every single day! When the couple is into each other, they are more than willing to spend time together. You can adjust the time table to fit each other's schedule, or even take some elective classes together.

Also, your date will be willing to spend weekend nights studying together with you since they would like to spend the most time together with you.

Simple Date Nights

Instead of dressing up for the date with your loved one, you can easily grab your lunch from the school cafeteria for an inexpensive price!

This is another perk of being CC, that you and your s/o can go on a cheap date around the campus. This way, both of you guys can save up money for tuitions or your next flight ticket for the summer.

Another advantage is going for a midnight snack and stroll during your studies. You get hungry easily and filling the energy up is crucial when you are doing all-nighters! Grab your loved one for a quick snack near the campus and walk around the school under the moonlight. Doesn't it sound romantic?

Emotional Support

CCs spend most of the time together at school and have more knowledge about little details of each other's life compared to non-CCs.

This makes a huge difference when it comes to emotional support: it makes it much easier to understand and empathize with each other. For example, if your life gets stressful with classes or roommates, your s/o will understand 100% since they are likely also in similar situations.

Rumor Has It

One of the crucial cons of being a CC is countless rumors around you and your ex.

Since the couple likely has shared groups consisting of mutual friends, everyone knows about your business including how the break-up was or other secrets that you and your ex s/o shared. Terrible!

Also, others can call you by 'someone's ex' instead of your name, just because you dated a guy from your class. Your love story can be used as a topic while others are sipping the tea. This is why people don't recommend being a CC, at least while you are a freshman.

Seeing Eachother Every day, After the Breakup

As I have mentioned before, you will have to see your ex, possibly every day,  after a brutal breakup.

If you guys are involved in the same student council group or volunteering club, you guys will have to see each other's faces quite often. This will be the most uncomfortable and awkward moment of your life, and what if your ex brings a new s/o to the group? I can't even imagine the hardship that follows.

What do you guys think? Is it worth being a CC? Do the pros outweigh the cons? Let us know your thoughts!
