Since the pandemic has started, I've been watching so much of YouTube staying at home. One day, I came across some of the YouTube channels that are run by Korean actors and K-pop stars. Let’s take a look if one of your favourite celebrities is a YouTube creator too!
The first YouTuber that we are going to introduce is Park Seo-Joon. He became even more famous among the Korean and global fans from the recent drama Itaewon Class. I also enjoyed watching his other dramas such as What's Wrong with Secretary Kim? and Midnight Runners. His channel is mostly about sharing his daily life and behind-the-scene stories from his work.
10 minutes go by so fast when I am staring at his cute face...
Another superstar from Itaewon Class, Ahn Bo-hyun shares his life from travelling and vlogs to behind-the-scene clips and work.
A former boxer, we can also take a look into his athleticism on his channel! Follow along on his home workout videos.
His travel vlogs are also worth checking out for your next Korea travel inspirations.
Solar is the leader/lead singer of the K-pop girl group MAMAMOO. The name of the channel is 'solarsido', which sounds similar to the music scale "sol, la, si, do".
Besides, sido also means "challenge" in Korean. Solar tries out miscellaneous challenges like rock climbing and showing how she removes her makeup after her schedule. This channel opened about a year ago and currently has two million subscribers.
She also covers other musicians' songs, which is a huge gift for the fans. Her vocal is exceptional, so please go listen to her covers!
Hyeri from Girl's Day became popular among the public after the drama Reply 1988. She played the role of immature but cute daughter, Deok-sun from the drama, which was a perfect match to her character.
This channel is especially meaningful for DAI5Y. Girl's Day technically ended their chapter as a group. It is harder for the fans to see all the four members together in the media now. However, you can see the members interacting with each other on Hyeri's channel which makes me so glad!
Super Junior
To make this clear, there is no YouTube channel that is called Super Junior. However, since many Super Junior members are talented and funny in their own way, they have opened their channels to upload their daily life, share their current interests, and sing cover songs.
Lee Teuk's channel is called "Kiss the YouTube"; a mimic of his old radio show that he used to DJ before he went to serve the military.
Next is the "Universe Star" run by Kim Hee-chul.
He often live streams him chatting with the fans or him playing games. In the background, you will be able to see his cute pets Heebum and KiBok.
Next up is Shindong, who drastically lost weight and transformed into a different person.
His channel was more general compared to the other members' as he took the route of being a tech YouTuber, reviewing some of the newest electronics and his stuff too!
Kyuhyun finally opened his channel too right after serving his military duty. As many of you guys know, he is the main vocal of the group and he covers lots of popular songs for the fans and the public. I personally love his single albums!
Kyuhyun recently showed his two nephews on a live stream. If you are a big fan of New Journey to the West, you may recognize the twins! They are so adorable.
Note that Donghae and Ryeowook also have their channels, so check them out too!
You may not know who Sorn is at first. Sorn is a Thai member of the girl group CLC. You will be able to see Elkie, another member of the K-pop group, very often from her channel.
Sorn usually uploads mukbang and makeup videos with Elkie. They sometimes speak English, which might be easier for the audience to understand more clearly.
Do you recognize N.Flying? They are the band who sings 'Rooftop'! When they released the 'Rooftop' album at first, they entered with at the lower tier of Korea's major music charts, but as soon as they finish their promotions on music shows, the song went viral after an anonymous person shared on the online community. The name of the channel is "2 IDIOTS".
While I was watching their videos, I could understand why they named the channel "2 IDIOTS"; they are hilarious. They do weird but unique challenges, games, mukbang and so much more on their videos!
I can picture viewers laughing at their funny and foolish reactions.
Other than the celebrities listed here today, there are a lot more celebrity Youtubers including Su-hyun from AKMU, Bomi from Apink, and actress Shin Se-gyeong. Who is your favourite? Share and let us know!
