Shocking news to BTS fans when they heard Cho Joo-Bin (also known as Baksa) who ran 'Nth Telegram Room' targeted their fan cafes. Cho Joo-Bin testified that his primary targeted victims were female BJ's (internet streamer) and females in the BTS fan cafes.

'Nth Telegram Room'news is constantly shocking both Koreans and foreigners! Even though the owner of the chat room Cho Joo-Bin is arrested there are more serious facts to be revealed.

'Nth Telegram Room' Extorted Women from BTS Fan Cafes

Reported by Seo Seung-Hee, the head of the Korean Cyber Sex Violence Response Center, Baksa targeted girls in their teens and 20s. He would go through idol group's fan cafes, including BTS to select his victims and once he obtained their nude pictures, he would use it to blackmail them later. This was the most common method the Baksa used, and the victims didn't even know their photos were being shown on Telegram rooms.

The main reason why he targeted famous idol fan cafes was that the fans were usually girls in their teens and 20s. He could easily manipulate them with cunning words and get their photos from them.

Mr. Seo emphasised that 'online grooming' is not a crime in Korea at the moment, so it has to be criminalised. Otherwise, these sexually exploited victims won't be able to get their justice. Without a proper law regarding online grooming, it will be difficult to punish the online sex offender.

Some girls are even tricked by making them believe they are in a close relationship with a man from overseas. Once the offender gains her trust he would ask her for nude pictures to prove her love towards him, and so she does. But in the end, she finds out that he was just using her to obtain her nude pictures and even blackmailing her. These victims can't even tell their parents or the police because of the shocking betrayal and shame. They become scarred for life.

Last October, the UN Committee on Child Rights has advised South Korea to take strong action in making a proper law for online grooming after recognising the seriousness of the situation. Mr. Seo hopes that strong measures for making new legislation will take place soon so that women who have been sexually exploited can get their justice and punish those who committed these horrific crimes. 

The 'Nth Telegram Room' news is still considered a big issue in Korea and has many followers. We hope these incidents don't happen again and pray that these criminals get what they deserve.
