Who doesn't watch YouTube these days? As is everywhere else in the world, YouTube is huge in Korea. In fact, it is the number 1 app used in Korea.

According to a government poll in 2007, the top 5 career choices for primary children in Korea was (in this order) teacher, doctor, celebrity, athlete and professor. However, in 2019 YouTuber took 3rd place.

The list below covers YouTube channels run by non-celebrities that provide English subtitles or provide content in English. Let's check out which YouTubers are hot in Korea!

HAMZY

Hamzy is a popular YouTuber in Korea. She became popular for cooking difficult Korean dishes such as gamjatang (감자탕), and yukgaejang (육개장). She also eats large amounts of food! 

During the summer of 2020, Hamzy was part of a huge advertising YouTube scandal. The scandal was advertising food without clearly indicating they were paid advertisements. 

While many other YouTubers have not issued any statements, Hamzy has since sincerely apologized, and is now active again. 

AWESOME HAEUN

Na Haeun is the star of the YouTube channel Awesome Haeun. She was born in 2009 and now is a famous kid model and dancer on YouTube. 

She mainly uploads covers of dances by idols. She released a soundtrack 2018, and introduced the dance section at the Melon Music Award (MMA).  

Even though Haeun is just in elementary school, with her dance skills, and star appearance we look forward to the future of Na Haeun!

A stroke from her hand can transform you into a goddess. She is one of the most famous make-up artists in Korea. 

From perfect smoky eye to a K-pop idol look, you name it, she can do everything with make-up. She's not just a YouTuber. She is also a CEO who owns a product line called Pony Effect. 

Not only is she an expert in make-up but also a trendsetter. Pony started to get more attention after working with K-pop star CL.

Sungha's father started uploading videos of him playing the guitar from when Sungha was just 9 years old. He learned the basics from his father, and from that his guitar playing began.

He is a guitar prodigy, but he doesn't like the title, and just prefers being called just a "guitarist." 

He has gone all over the world touring and has played with many famous guitarists and artists. Get ready to be amazed by his extraordinary guitar skills!
