Unhyeongung Palace | Insadong
A palace full of historic stories
As Seoul's official Historic Site No. 257, Unhyeongung was once a Jamjeo, Joseon's 26th King Gojong's temporary residence for before he was enthroned. Gojong's father, Heungseon Daewongun, also resided here.
Unhyeongung Palace, home to the Grand Court during the Joseon Dynasty, is now open to the public. Many historical events occurred on this site. The palace consists of two parts, one being the traditional Hanok building while the other is a building in a European architectural style. Keep in mind that the entrances to these parts are separated so you'll have to exit one to enter the other.

The traditional hanok buildings of the palace are Sujiksa, Noandang, Norakdang and Irodang. If you're keen on learning more about the palace, check out Unhyeongung Palace's official website for more information.
