Hi everyone. We're Creatrip, your personal Korean travel guide.
Eunpyeong Hanok Village is the 3rd biggest hanok village in Seoul. Since it was built relatively recently, it's not as known as Seochon or Bukchon hanok village. But it still has its own merits and style. Today I'll show you what's around Eunpyeong hanok village.
Most of the hanok here are regular homes so we can’t just barge in to look inside. However, there are some houses where you can stay just like Airbnb. Experiencing a night in a hanok house where you can appreciate the interior and structures of hanok.
1 In 1 Jan | Cafe
A cafe where you can see the fabulous Bukhan Mountain, satisfying to both sight and taste at the same time.
You have to get a seat first to place an order here, which is quite unusual. If you sit on the 1st or 2nd floor, they serve your orders to you, but if you sit on the 3rd floor (No Kids Zone) or terrace, you have to take it yourself. In my opinion, the 3rd floor (No Kids Zone) had the best view.
I moved up to 5th floor the terrace and the full view of Eunpyeong hanok village and mountain was just breathtaking. It gave me a sense of serenity and the weather was also great. I recommend the terrace if the weather is good.
They also sell chestnut rice cakes. Personal the food here is ordinary, but because of its views, it's worth it.
Eunpyeong History Hanok Museum
Eunpyeong History Hanok Museum is a place where you can experience hanbok and learn more about hanok. It is closed due to COVID-19 right now. Don't feel the need to go Gyeongbokgung to wear hanbok and try this place when it reopens.
Jingwansa Temple
Jingwansa Temple is located on the west side of Bukhan Mountain. You can enjoy the hiking trails and its peaceful nature. There is a traditional tea house here, and a temple stay.
There is a big road and a small road. The big road leads to Jingwansa Temple and a small road to the hiking trail. Since Bukhan Mountain is popular, it gets crowded with people hiking on the weekends.
There were cherry blossoms and pebble tower along the way which was lovely.
Surrounded by a famous Korean mountain, a village that possesses exquisite scenery presenting a sophisticating appearance. In Bukchon, Seochon, and Ikseon-dong, hanok are very popular, but in this village, the houses are all hanok, making this place 100% Hanok Village. They even designed the convenience store and coffee shop like hanok.
Transportation can be a bit inconvenient, but it's worth the hassle. I recommend it to those who want to have a resort-like and healing atmosphere amidst Seoul city.
Direction
I'm afraid there is no subway station near here, so you have to take the bus. From Yeonsinnae Station take the 7211 or 701 to 'Hana High School, Samchunsa Temple, Jingwansa Temple Entrance'. When you get off, you'll be able to see Hanok Village just on your right.
