Jamsil Cafe Onhwa ㅣ Reviews
From the white and wooden decorations even before entering the cafe, I felt a sense of warmth. When you see the sign above standing by the door, it means the cafe is full at the moment so be sure to grab a standby number from the staff.
Luckily, when I went there were some seats available. As you can see from the pictures they have lots of seatings of different shapes filling all corners of the cafe.
The open kitchen lets visitors watch baristas drip coffee and make souffle. The impression I got was that the kitchen was very hygienic and well-maintained.
We ordered 3 drinks and 1 souffle. Because the souffle starts getting made at order, we waited about 15 minutes for everything to get served. I didn't mind the wait because I felt that this way, every plate of souffle must get served fresh out of its creation!
The most popular souffle at Onhwa is the strawberry souffle and it's quite different from generic souffle you might find in Korea. The perfect amount of cream and huge slices of strawberries were so flavourful, and the souffle melted straight in my mouth.
Personally, I only go to cafes with matcha lattes and the matcha latte here was really high in quality! The tea was aromatic and it didn't taste too bitter nor too sweet, just the perfect level of sweetness that complemented the souffle.
The ice drip coffee, very fragrant and quite strong, is their main beverage. If you're a coffee-lover, be sure to try it!
Lastly, we tried out their ice milk tea. I wouldn't recommend it as strongly as the other items. It tasted kind of like medicine but at the same time, it wasn't too bitter either. Overall, it tasted quite strange.
If you like their coffee beans, you can buy some and drip them yourself at home! They also have their tumblers, cups and mugs for sale.
