Sewoon Shopping Centre (세운상가)I Reviews
There are so many entrances to Sewoon. You can go up if you find an escalator, and the range is huge, but you're basically in the same place. Don't worry about getting lost.
Take the stairs to the second floor. It has been designed as a flat walkway. Although it's not that high, you can already overlook the scenery of the Jongro District.
Combining modernity, history, cultural innovation, etc., the design of Sewoon is no longer the old shopping mall, but it is renewed with novelty and vitality to renew this place.
The passage on the second floor can lead you all the way to the building behind Cheonggyecheon. It is very convenient. Everyone can take a walk and experience the slow breath of Jongro district in Seoul.
And here in Sewoon, there is also a street with coffee, food, cultural and creative small items. Although the store is not that large, it's still very popular.
But is this all at Sewoon? No! The top floor here has a superb view, which is a rare treasure for tourists.
How do we get up here? Let's go back to the beginning, leaving Exit 12 of Jongro 3ga station, and going straight to the entrance of Sewoon, there is an elevator going up, and take it directly to the 9th floor.
Elevator at the entrance
Opening hours : 10:00 to 22:00; no food allowed
As the elevator slowly rises up to the ninth floor, everyone can see over the "Jongmyo", one of Korea's world cultural heritage. When the elevator reaches the ninth floor, you can relax and overlook the beautiful scenery of the entire Jongro district.
It looks like a beautiful rooftop cafe, and it feels different during the day and at night. The weather wasn't too good when I went during the day, which was a pity. So I posted the night view for your reference.
Want to see the night scene? Instead of being stuck with the crowd, you can see a totally different scenery from ordinary tourists in Sewoon.
But Sewoon is beautiful in the daytime too. You can refer to the photos on Instagram to take wonderful photos of your own.
The old memory of the city is also completely transformed. The Seoul that you see in Sewoon is a little bit different from the progressive and prosperous image of Seoul that everyone imagines.
Note: Although there are many young shopping districts inJongro District, the residents here are mostly the elderly
I hope you got to know this place better after reading this article. It is quite a new attraction (opened in 2017) and there are not too many people, but you can see a different Seoul.
If you would like to hang around in Jongro, Jongmyo, Cheonggyecheon, and Euljiro, you might as well come to Sewoon Shopping Centre to experience a different atmosphere of Seoul.
