Oppa Takes You to Gyeongbokgung Seochon   

Located west of Gyeongbokgung, lots of artists from the past, including King Sejong, lived in this area.

If Bukchon is often lively with lots of tourists in Hanboks, Seochon is quieter and more relaxed.

Creatrip Oppa will show us around!

1. Daelim Museum

Daelim Museum is a photographer's dream and is the attraction that represents Seochon.

There's a nice cafe inside where you can get a discount with your museum ticket.

Interestingly, you buy the museum ticket at the cafe. This place is highly recommended for art lovers!

2. GRANHAND

GRANHAND has three branches just in the Gyeongbokgung area.

The store features perfumes, candles, diffusers, oil and air fresheners made by a Korean perfumer only available at GRANDHAND.

It is said that a great scent can be spotted on the streets even before entering the store.   

3. History Bookshop (역사책방)

The bookstore specializes in history books. There is a cute loft area where purchasing customers can spend time reading their new books as well as a cafe.

4. The Book Society (더북소사이어티) 

Its unique vibe as an independent bookstore is something franchise bookstores cannot imitate. There are lots of books available in English and on arts and design.

5. Tongin Market (통인시장)

The Dosirak (lunchbox) Cafe is the highlight of Tongin Market.

One Tongin coin costs ￦500, and the smallest quantity you can exchange coins with cash is 10 coins for ￦5,000.

With these coins, you go around the market with a plate given by the market and buy food at participating stores.

It's especially fun walking up and down the small alleys of the market, planning and selecting the menu for your lunchbox.

After you've finished composing your lunchbox, you go back to the Dosirak Cafe to enjoy your food.

Hours: Weekdays 11:00-15:00; Weekends 11:00-16:00 / Closed on every third Sunday of the month

6. Daeo Bookstore (대오서점)

Daeo Bookstore is the oldest bookstore in Seoul!

It's maintained its look as a bookstore but is currently operating as a cafe.

This place has gained even more local and international visitors since Kpop star IU has shot her album photos here.

Unfortunately, the interior is only open to paying customers.

You can either buy a drink at the cafe or pay a package fee (usage of photo zone, mini sugar candy and postcard) of ￦2,500.

7. Sanmotunggi Coffee (산모퉁이)

A ￦5,000 taxi ride will get you to this cafe located on a hillside with a magnificent view.

A popular Kdrama, Coffee Prince, was filmed here.

Aside from the popularity from the drama, its beautiful interior and views attract many customers.

A cup of coffee is steeply priced at around ￦8,000, but I think it's worth a visit given its nice views and relaxing vibes.

One downside is that you have to walk down to the main road to get a taxi back.   Please keep this in mind!
