KFC New Chicken Gizzards
What makes KFC so confident about their chicken gizzards?
Hello everyone! We're Creatrip, your group of Korean travel experts.
When KFC released chicken skin for a limited time in June of 2019, people were so crazy about them that even convenience stores started selling chicken skin. Now, KFC has done it again! They recently released locals' delight, chicken gizzards. What kind of food trend do you think this would bring to the ever-changing fast food world in Korea?
Do you guys remember the craze KFC brought with the release of their chicken skin? Initially, the release only applied to select branch locations. Due to the rapid growth of demand, they had to expand their sales outlets to more and more branches. Finally, the sales of chicken skin has stopped due to seasonal restrictions.
Starting September 10, 2020, KFC will offer locally-loved chicken gizzards for sale. Although chicken gizzards are widely sold at local markets, KFC is the first fast food chain to sell this dish! KFC confidently states that their 'way of frying it is just unique.'

Although the portions look quite tiny, but it's actually quite filling! The price is also reasonable at only 2,800KRW. What makes it even more special is the unique hot pepper flakes they sprinkle on top to give it a piquant kick.
If you want to get a taste of the gizzards, you might want to go before 3pm. Even then there's no guarantee that they won't be sold out!
I also went early on day 1 of its release to get my hands on this delicate food. The portion was a bit smaller than I expected, having 10 pieces. What surprised me the most was the sauce, not too greasy but light and flavourful. The red pepper flakes on top finished them off nicely too.
Overall, the gizzards were delicious but I still much prefer the amazing chicken skin.
If you're looking for something quick and unique to try on your trip to Korea, make sure to stop by KFC to get a bite of their chicken gizzards!
