Yeonnamdong Activity Guide | Locals' Recommendations
Yeonnamdong is known for its stunning cafes and restaurants, but what else is there to do?
Today let's go for a walk in Yeonnamdong together.
In addition to all the wonderful cafes and restaurants, there are also many fun things to do like ever popular in Korea, now world famous noraebang, arcades, selfie studios, and more.
We've got a lot to cover, so let's get started!
Gyeongui Line Forest Park
After exiting Hongdae Station through Exit 3, you will see Gyeongui Line Forest Park. This once abandoned railway line has been totally revamped and is now of the the busiest districts in Seoul.
In recent years, young artists have gathered here, opening up charming art spaces. Along the two sides of the road, you will find many beautiful restaurants and cafes worth a visit.
Before the COVID-19 outbreak, Koreans often stopped by the area for picnics on nice days but for now, unfortunately, this is not possible.
However, Yeonnamdong is still full of people and taking a stroll here is just as enjoyable as always.

Coin Noraebang
This type of noraebang is the most popular with teens in Korea at the moment because it is cheap and you can pay per song. Coin noraebangs are quite small and can only accommodate 2-4 people, unlike the traditional noraebangs.
With just 1,000 won, you will be able to sing 2-4 songs, depending on the place you go.
At Rex Coin, the noraebang we went to, it was 1,000 won for 2 songs, 5,000 won for 12 songs, and 10,000 won for 25 songs. Or if you want to by time, it's 4,000 won for 30 minutes, 7,000 won for 1 hour.
Although the prices at this noraebang may be a little bit more than others', this establishment is very clean and the staff thoroughly disinfect the rooms as soon as the customers leave, so you can feel safe coming here.

The staff will give you sample patterns that you can choose from. The stars indicate the difficulty, and it is recommended to start off with an image less than 3 stars if you've never done this before.
Alternatively, you can create your own pattern. The staff can offer helpful advice, but be careful not to make a pattern that is too complicated!
After selecting a pattern, the staff will lead you to a dark room to choose your colors. If you want more than two colors, it will be an additional charge of 5,000 won. This took us about an hour to make, and we were very pleased with how it turned out!
