Hongdae is home of many samgyeopsal restuarants and BBQ places. Along with God of Samgyeopsal (삼겹의신) that I'll introduce today, there are many more.

Well no need to drag along the intro for too long. Let's take a look at this marvellous place with good food and good price in Hongdae!

Hongdae Food : God of Samgyeopsal (삼겹의 신)

The restaurant is located in the main part of Hongdae, on the street lined with trees. But it seems that people who come here are mostly Koreans or Korean speaking people only, because the shops here don't really write things in English or Chinese.

Next to Hollys Coffee in front of which are many open-air performances, you'll see a building under construction on the first floor. But you can go in, because only the first floor is under construction and our destination for today is on the second floor, with all the signs written in Korean as the below pic.

Take the stairs on the left to go up. When you arrive, it's a part where there are scarcely any tourists, so it's a less bustling environment to enjoy your meal here.

Unlike 'Ungteori Saenggogi' just nearby, this place has all the signs and menus written in Korean, so there aren't many tourists. Still, even if tourists don't frequent this place, it doesn't mean that this place isn't any good. I'm personally in love with this place!

This restaurant isn't ridiculously big with abundant seats, but people come and go at a fast pace, so you don't usually have to wait to eat here.

On this grill, you'll be given a paper foil which you can use until you finish your meal. Good meat doesn't need much foil.

The side dishes and meat are all for you to self-serve. The samgyeopsal on the shelves are not frozen, so just take one plate at a time. If you are afraid of taking too much of the same, you can also take other kinds of samgyeopsal (left) or beef samgyeopsal (right) in the freezer.

Even the miso soup is included in the price, so when you set the table, you've got so much food to make you happy. Couldn't help my hands from shaking when I took this picture. Also, with the paper foil on the grill, the meat doesn't get burnt easily and it tastes a little like the meat are slightly boiled.

It really makes my hands shake uncontrollably. Do you know how much all this costs? Each person can have samgyeopsal, pork neck (항정살), thin samgyeopsal, beef samgyeopsal, miso soup, and other side dishes at just 11,900 won, which is really cost-effective.

Compared to Ungteori Saenggogi, here, you've got more choices and there are less people. As for Dwaeiji Sanghwae, I feel that God of Samgyeopsal has better quality food.

Don't consider the Kkotdwaeji Gallery, it will be too hot in summer ; the price range of 1988 Gogi Bulpae is similar to God of Samgyeopsal. If you are at Hongdae for a weekday lunch, you can go to 1988.

So as a whole, God of Samgyeopsal has meat of good quality like Ungteori Saenggogi, but with less crowd and more variety of food choices.

On the pic above, I've set up both thin samgyeopsal and flavoured ribs, all for ₩11,900. Just remember, don't take more than you can eat to the table.

Wonderful, right? The building looks like it's in ruins, but actually it's just the first floor under construction, and with no signs and menus in English or Chinese, most of the customers here are Korean. Strangely enough, an employee here speaks Chinese though.
