Outbound Automatic Clearance
Swipe in and head out! South Korea opens automatic clearance to foreign visitors
Hello, everyone! We are Creatrip, a group of travel experts.
The South Korean government announced that starting today (July 10), all foreign tourists will no longer need to be examined when they leave South Korea. They are automatically cleared through the automatic customs kiosk and can head to the duty-free shops more quickly.
Automatic Immigration Clearance
Many foreigners have actually been guided to the automatic immigration kiosks by airport staff before this.
Now with the announcement of the South Korean government about this new service, foreigner visitors are officially allowed automatic clearance. It seems that the system was being tested at the time.
However, there are some exceptions that may affect the passengers' application for automatic customs clearance.
- Tourist visa holders that have exceeded their 90 day maximum limit.
- Passport, fingerprint, face information and exit information provided at the time of entry
- Bad records (misdemeanor, criminal) while in Korea
- Under 17 years old
For those who hold automatic customs clearance in Korea or a foreigner's registration card, the automatic clearance is available for use straight away.
