Our Visit
In Korean, Huinnyeoul Culture Village is Huinnyeoul Munhwa Maul (흰여울문화마을).

The name originated from the way the water flowing off of Bongnaesan Mountain into the sea resembles snow.

Originally home to refugess of the Korean War, it has been a popular place to visit since appearing in the 2013 film The Attorney.
Each house in the narrow alleyway that slopes down to the beach is designed in white tones, and the homes that once housed refugees have been transformed into cafes, restaurants, and souvenir stores.
The village was much more expansive than I had realized, with many interesting things to see!

Since it faces the sea and there is little to no shade, sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen are essential in the summer.
Huinnyeoul Culture Village isn't just a tourist attraction, it's also home to local residents.
It is important to keep this in mind while sightseeing so as not to disturb them!
There are two main roads in Huinnyeoul Village, the coastal promenade and the road up on the hill where there are various shops, cafes, and restaurants.
There are endless places to take amazing photos!
If you like to take photos, this place is a prime location for some truly great photography.
Unfortunately, the day we visited it was overcast.
The photos would look even better had it been sunny and bright.
The scenery is beautiful, definitely would be stunning on a fairer weather day.
You can relax and let go of your stress while taking in the ocean views.
The white and blue theme fit perfectly with the Santorini description.
There are a lot of cute shops to check out in Huinnyeoul Culture Village.
You can find postcards which make great and inexpensive souvenirs.
Also, the shop employees are very friendly.
So many souvenir options to choose from!
I ended up buying these postcards to commemorate our visit.
The whole village is picturesque, so wherever you snap a photo, it will look cool.
The contrast between the sea and white walls is very beautiful.
There are maps in the village, so it's easy to find your way around.
I really feels like something from a movie
The best spot in my opinion is Huinnyeoul Jeomppang (흰여울점빵)
You can eat ramyun while enjoying the seascape, a unique experience.
There are also a lot of cafes in the village.
Looking through all the cafes and picking one that best suits your tastes is part of the fun.
There is a also a public restroom along the road.
The view at night is equally captivating.
After a day exploring Busan, relaxing in Huinnyeoul Culture Village in the evening would be perfect!

Photo Zones
At the very end of Huinnyeoul Culture Village is a photo zone where you can take pictures with an ocean backdrop.
Since we went on a weekday, it wasn't too busy, but on weekends there are often long lines.
If you search for photos of the village on Instagram, you'll find a lot of photos taken in this spot.
Be sure to get your photo here when you visit!
After taking your picture, continue along and you will see a sign.
When you come to the end of the path, you will see a very long rainbow-colored staircase.
Taking the stairs will take you to another photo spot
We went to the left of the sign, the long way around, and the path was steep, so we suggest going right and taking the stairs
You will immediately see the Huinnyeoul Coast Tunnel where you can take some really cool pictures.
There were a lot of people lined up here for photos.
Looking back as we entered the tunnel, we could see the bridge and beach area.
Of course we had to snap photos while we were here.
You can get some nice shots from the coastal road as well.
Why not pose for a photo here too?
The tunnel itself is lit inside.
The lights would change color periodically and many people stoped to take pictures.
There were also interesting photo zones inside the tunnel that were illuminated.
When you come out of the tunnel, there is another photo spot.
If you go to the right of the sign, it takes you to the exit on the other side of the tunnel.
It's too bad the weather wasn't better.
If you go to the left of the sign, you will have to go down the stone stairs, so we recommend taking a right to the rainbow stairs.
Huinnyeoul Culture Village is a pretty cool destination to visit next time you come to Busan.
Be sure to add it to the list when making your travel plans.
