Gemstone is a cafe near Nampodong and Yeongdo Grand Bridge in Busan. It is famous for as an unique cafe where you can enjoy coffee and dessert in the middle of the swimming pool. Gemstone is the only cafe that is located inside a swimming pool.
When you open the door, you may think 'This is a swimming pool?'. However, if you go straight ahead, you will see the swimming pool in a short time. You have to go downstairs to see the pool.
Cafe Gemstone was made after remodeling old swimming pools in Yeongdo. The floor tiles and rail lines of the pool were kept as it originally was, so viewing the unique interior was also very fun.
There were tables, chairs and plants on the blue floor tiles so it felt like I was watching the ocean view even though it was an indoors cafe. The swimming pool was very large and spacious, so there were plenty of seats.
There were also seats in a stair-style. Comfortable sofa seat and cushion under the parasol also seemed very comfortable.
How about lying in the sunbeds on the ground floor?
On the first floor of Gemstone, there are seats in the shower room and locker rooms. Isn't this so unique? At first glance, it may seem modern but if you look at it with detail, you can see it's actually a swimming pool locker.
Also, there is a photo zone with the big bear doll, and photo zone with a grand piano and old car, so be sure to find them!
Now let's go to the 2nd floor!
On the 2nd floor, you can view the swimming pool from above and relax on the bean bag cushions and parasol. Those who want to lie down and relax should try to get seating on the 2nd floor.
This is viewing the swimming pool from the 2nd floor. Although this is a very popular cafe, it does not get extremely crowded to the point where you may feel overwhelmed as the cafe is spacious and can accommodate for large crowds of people.

The Injeolmi Bread and Squid Ink Butter Bread are the most popular. We decided on the Injelomi Bread.
Inside the Injeolmi Bread there is fresh cream and red beans inside. On the outside, there is injeolmi flour scattered. Due to the injelomi flour, it tasted very sweet and the combination of cream and red bean was the best! This is a traditional Korean flavor and a type of food that will be harder to find in other places so for those that want to try out a bread that is uniquely Korean, we recommend trying out this menu item.
