Gigibebe is a Hanbok rental store located just 5 minutes away from Gyeongbokgung Station and is super accessible and easy to find. It is a long-established Hanbok shop that has been operating near Gyeongbokgung for 40 years and is very popular among customers!

Located on the 3rd floor, the Gigibebe Hanbok shop is very spacious and clean, so it is pleasant to visit. It is filled with Hanboks, so you can spend as much time as you need looking through all the different designs! From traditional and fusion Hanboks to luxurious royalty Hanboks, you can choose whichever style you like best!

The entire family can experience wearing a Hanbok together, as there are Hanboks available for children from age 3 and winter fur vests that can be worn for the cold weather.

There are also a variety of hats and bags that can be styled with the Hanbok, so you can pick out your favorite items and coordinate them with your Hanbok!

There are also pretty hair accessories you can choose, such as hair ribbons, headbands, and hairpins. There is also a large dressing table where you can style your hair and makeup after putting on your Hanbok.

There is also a variety of men's Hanboks, including royal king Hanboks, crown prince Hanboks, and warrior Hanboks! The top and bottom pieces are divided, so you can choose the correct size accordingly.

You can also choose different hats, which are divided by status based on Korea's historical social rankings, so you can pick and choose the hat you like to complete your outfit!

There are lockers available inside the store where you can leave your things while you rent the Hanbok. There are more than 5 changing rooms in the store as well, so you can conveniently try on Hanboks without waiting for a long time. There are also employees who can speak English, Chinese, and Japanese, so you can communicate comfortably!

There is a second location just a minute away, so you can see even more Hanbok designs if you'd like.

After renting the Hanbok of your pick and getting a pretty hairstyle done at Gigibebe Hanbok, head over to Gyeongbokgung Palace and take nice pictures!

Our Visit

For the Gyeongbokgung Palace Night Viewing, you'll need to head to the 2nd branch of Gigibebe Hanbok. It's super close to the main branch and you should see it on the way!

The second branch is smaller than the main branch, but there is still a huge variety of Hanbok styles available to choose from!

Once you pick a skirt, the staff will help you pick out a matching top!

You can also get your hair done by the staff! There are seven styles to choose from. Simple styles are free and more elaborate styles are 3,000 KRW.

You can go for a more traditional look with Daenggi Hair (댕기머리), which is done with a braid and a ribbon, or you can opt for a more modern look with the pins pictured below!

They have so many beautiful hair accessories! We highly recommend getting your hair done because it really completes the look.

The staff are very experienced with styling and will match all the accessories to the Hanbok you selected!

These are the styles we chose. Aren't they so pretty?

Finally, you can choose a cute little bag to match your Hanbok and store any belongings you want to bring with you to the palace. All your other belongings can be stored in the lockers at the store!

It's time to head to Gyeongbokgung Palace! If you're wearing a Hanbok, you can get into the Night Viewing for free! Keep scrolling for some nighttime photo ideas~

There are lights on the ground that you can use to create this kind of 'firefly' look!

It's also fun to match Hanbok looks with a friend! We chose these simple pastel-toned skirts with matching white tops! Here are some examples of photos you can take together at the palace.

You can't miss getting photos with the palace while it's lit up at night! You can sit on the steps directly in front of one of the palace buildings or get some shots from further away.

You can also rent this traditional handheld lamp from the Hanbok store! It's great to use in photos as well. For more information on how to see Gyeongbokgung Palace at night, check out the link below.
