Our Visit

Humming Bella is a cafe where you can eat delicious desserts while sitting on the terrace. It occupies the entire building (seen in the photo below). The cafe occupies the second and third floor, and the first floor is for the bakery.

You can check out the beautiful terrace seats on the second floor. When you visit Humming Bird during spring, summer or autumn, make sure you grab a seat here. Your dessert and coffee will be tastier when you look at the green garden on the first floor. There aren't many cafes that have spacious terrace seats like Humming Bella in Hongdae.

The third floor also has outside seats. During winter, the third-floor terrace area is covered with a giant vinyl cover to keep the place warm and cozy. I was able to see the whole layout of Hongdae alleys on the terrace or window seats.

Besides the terrace area, Humming Bella has an upscale interior design. The second floor is decorated with European-style furniture and chandeliers, giving a very carefree and relaxed vibe.

The third floor is decorated with wood furniture and white brick walls. I was able to feel more comfort and a private feeling from this interior design. The third floor had a high ceiling and the seats were evenly spaced out. I think the third floor would be more suitable for those who want to work or study.

We ordered the Real Chocolate Croissant, Shupriz, Latte, and the Hibiscus Grapefruit Iced Tea.

The Real Chocolate Croissant and Shupriz are the signature menu items of Humming Bella. The outside of the Real Chocolate Croissant was crispy and flaky, while the bread was chewy and full of chocolate cream, making it sweet and delicious. The Shupriz was unique, as it had soft sheets of pastry and sweet cream placed on top of the almond tart. It was the kind of sweetness where it makes you relaxed no matter how tired you are when you take a bite. If you are going to visit Humming Bella, we recommend you try the desserts because it's hard to find them anywhere else!

The Hibiscus Grapefruit Iced Tea is a fresh and refreshing taste as it uses freshly squeezed Grapefruit paired with the clean taste of the Hibiscus Tea. If you want to drink both fruit juice and tea I recommend you this drink.

For anyone that doesn't have time to enjoy the cafe but wants to taste Humming Bella's various cookies or bread, you can actually buy them to-go from the first floor of Humming Bella. There are two locations in Hongdae. One of the stores is located in the first floor of HOTEL DESIGNERS so it is easy if you pay a visit to the store while staying at the hotel.

The Designers store is spacious and formed with a comfortable atmosphere where you can drink coffee and eat bread comfortably.

Many Hongdae Cafes are very cute and pretty. Most of them are petite and do not have enough space for their customers.
