Gongneung Dakhanmari at Ewha is a specialty restaurant for chicken dishes.
The meaning of Dakhanmari is to cook a whole chicken and vegetables in a thick soup, and then eat it with sauce. Not only does your stomach warm up after eating this kinda chicken, but it is also delicious.
Located in the middle of Ewha and Sinchon, this place is also a well-known gourmet restaurant frequented by foreign tourists.
Gongneung Dakhanmari is also located in various other locations in Seoul too. This store in Ewha has a total of two floors. The space is very large, so it is also highly recommended for group travelers to dine here.
They use only non-frozen chicken, probably because of this, so the chicken here will be so elastic when it is eaten.
There is only chicken on the menu! One chicken, one and a half or two chickens can be ordered according to the number of people.
Usually two or three people eat a chicken and add some other ingredients. If more than four people, you can consider one and a half or two.
In addition to the original ingredients in the pot, you can add mushrooms, noodles, and rice cakes. Adding your favorite ingredients can help you enjoy a more delicious chicken.
The side dishes here include kimchi, chilli, cabbage and sauce. Before tasting, pour the sauce adequately, and wait for the chicken to be cooked. Since the chicken itself is quite large, you don't really need to worry about not being full after your meal.
Although a chicken is a bit like ginseng chicken soup, the two are actually different. If the ginseng chicken soup is stewed, the rice becomes sticky, and the whole pot becomes sticky. The biggest feature of Dakhanmari is that the soup is very light, and you can feel your stomach warming with a bite of soup. After eating chicken, you can add noodles or rice to cook porridge, and the taste is even more unforgettable, so I recommend everyone to eat it this way too.
The chicken here is tremendously delicious, not too salty or too light. You can smell the rich meat, and the staff will also cut the other ingredients into adequate pieces. The size is also very convenient to eat. Many Koreans pour kimchi and sauce into the pot and cook together. They think this is a better way to eat.
It is recommended that when you're here, add some of your favorite ingredients. It blends really well with all kinds of ingredients, so you should really try to integrate what you like.
The sweet and sour sauce stimulates your appetite, and the light chicken with cabbage will enhance the taste of the chicken.
When the chicken is nearly gone, you can put noodles, or rice to cook porridge, and you'll have a new dish. Put the rice in the rest of the soup, then add the eggs and stir fry with seaweed, it becomes a pot of fragrant porridge, which absorbs the essence of chickens, and the gums of potatoes. The aroma makes the stomach that is almost full go hungry again.
You can have it with kimchi if you like. It goes together really well.
With chicken, ingredients and porridge, it is possible to have a full meal at Gongneung Dakhanmari in Ewha. No matter which season, it is very suitable for this hot soup of chicken to warm the stomach.
If you want to experience Korean-style chicken dishes, visit here for a rich meal! I believe that after eating it you won't be able to wait for another bite!
