Magongnaru station, which officially started operating in 2018, boasts its prime location with Gimpo Airport and Hangang closeby.
Seoul Botanic Park has the biggest greenhouse in all of Korea with over 3,000 species of plants and plan on expanding to over 8,000.

If East Seoul has Seoul Forest, West Seoul has Seoul Botanic Park, offering options to take a break in large, green atmospheres. Seoul Botanic Park is around 4000㎡, with great significance for ecological research.

The park is largely divided into Forest Field, Botanic Garden, Lake Garden and Wetland. The most popular option among visitors is Display Garden which features 8 themes. My favourites are cacti and succulents. What about you?
I visited before their official opening to take a walk around the park.
On the right side of the entrance is the Information Centre where you can pick up an English map of the park.
You will see the entrance to the greenhouse on the right side. It features the most special plant species from 12 different tropical and Mediterranean countries. Upon entrance, I could feel the heat and humidity of the greenhouse.
Not only can you see the plants up close, but you can also view the entire greenhouse from the sky corridor above.
There are cute small areas inside the greenhouse where you can take photos.
Outside, I could see small forests with a lake, a bridge and small flowers. I felt like this was the perfect place to go for slow walks and spend time with family.
It was springtime when I went, so I could see lots of tulips in various colours. Aren't they beautiful?
I also spotted little food booths there. It would be nice to purchase food there or bring your own sandwiches and sorts for little picnics with friends and family.
Other amenities near the greenhouse include cafe and souvenir shop located on the first floor of the culture centre and library on the second floor. The library features over 700 plant-related books.
The 4th floor features a food court which was pretty good too! Right beside the food court was an indoor play area for the kids, I could see lots of parents playing with their kids there.
Seoul Botanic Park is only two subway stops on the airport line from Hongdae. I highly recommend this place for those of you travelling West Seoul.
