When traveling in Korea, if you pass through the Han River, you will think of bicycle riding, night view, and night market that has recently become popular.
Is it really all you can get out of Han river?

Today we will introduce how Seoul locals enjoy Han River, especially in summer time. Located at the heart of Seoul, Han River takes less than an hour to arrive from anywhere in Seoul.
Here are 6 activities that are rarely known to foreign travelers! Read this blog and have cool summer travel in Korea~

Han River Attraction : 1. Seoul Marina（서울마리나）

Address：서울시 영등포구 여의서로 160（Near National Assemble Station Exit 6, Dangsan Station Exit 8, 9)

The first water attractions in Han River is "Seoul Marina" around the Han River in Yeouido.  It is a large yacht and ferry company.
When you were taking a walk along Yeouido you must have seen there tall yachts and banquets.

Partying on yacht is extremely costly and you might think it is not for you.
Seould Marina offers relatively cheaper yacht experience!

When the weather is good, yachts will depart from the side of Yeouido. There are 27- inch light boat, and 31-inch light boats to choose from. 

They provide online reservations service. If you reserve from Creatrip you will get special discounts. 

It depends on the weather, but normally the business hour is from 10am to 10pm. 

Of course there are more options if you have more budget. It costs a lot more to rent a yacht for special purpose, and if you want to rent a bigger yacht or for longer time, its cost rises accordingly.

In addition if you feel that the light boat is not enough for you you can choose to take another shop next to Yanghua Bridge. 

If you are with others it costs 30,000 KRW, but if you want to rent a yacht it originally costs 360,000 KRW. However, they are on sale now and you can enjoy the luxurious trip at much lower price.

Han River Attraction：2. Tubester（튜브스터）

Address：서울특별시 서초구 올림픽대로 683（Near Express Bus Terminal Station Exit 8-1, Banpo Bridge)

I believe most of you have seen the second Han River attraction. It is located at the southern end of Banpo Bridge, where the "Seoul Bam Dokkaebi Night Market" is held. 

It is a coffe cup shaped ride that can be used with friends, lovers and family members. You can enjoy the night scenes and cool summer breeze from the fun water ride.

Due to weather conditions, Tubester is only open from April to November. It opens from 4pm to 12pm, and on weekends it starts at 2pm.

A boat can take up to six people. It will save money if you are with friends to pay together.
Enjoy chicken and beer above the Han River! It is one of the most love activities in Seoul.

To be honest the cost has increased from 45,000 in 2018 to 50,000 now. If you can share it with friends, the offer is still not too bad. 

If you are a couple, you might have to open up your pursue a little bit.

Han River Attraction：3. Water Taxi（수상택시）

Address：서울특별시 서초구 반포동 115-1（Located next to Banpo Bridge, close to Sinbanpo Station Exit 2, Express Bus Terminal Station Exit 8-1)

Next, we will introduce you the "water taxi" you might not be familiar with. As you know, Han River crosses through the middle of Seoul. Government provides water taxi that can be used as sight seeing method. You can choose from different locations to where to depart from and take off. You can choose this transportation to move and sight see at the same time. 

As you can see on the map, there  are many large and small ferries in the Han River, and I will introduce you one stop near the Express Bus Terminal Station. (Seorae Naru).

There are many water taxis from Seorae Naru in one day, mainly to Yeouido (National Conference Hall, Yeouido Ferry, 63 Building).

If the weather is nice, you can enjoy the beautiful coast of Han River regardless of the time. Price might not be chap compared to other transportation but the scenery is much better. 

In addtiona, according to the needs of local people, the water taxi also provide commuter services. the route is Jmsil-Yeouido-Seorae Naru-Yeouido. You can save a lot of time when the traffic is heavy on road.

There is also a teaching service. If you want to learn to drive yacht this is the place for you. It feels really cool, even if you cannot afford a yacht. 

Han River Activity：4. Cruise Ship（유람선）

Address：서울특별시 영등포구 여의동로 290（Near Line5 Yeouinaru Station）

For Koreans, it is a special activity to ride on a cruise. If you want to add a special something to the Seoul night, you can choose the cruise ride. The banquet Buffet offers a short trip alongside Han River, and it is a good chance to enjoy the view from high class tour boat.

It's not just a banquet ferry with dinner, but they also serve Chinese food. Another special thing is that this place was a filming location for <You Who Came From the Stars>.

The most famous Moonlight Rainbow Fountain of Banpo Bridge can be seen up close from the ferry. It is completely different from the shore. You'd better give it a try.

Han River Attraction : 5. Kayak（카약）

Address：서울특별시 광진구 자양2동 409（Close to Line 2 Guui Station Exit 4, Line 7 Ttukseom Resort Station Exit 2)

Riding on a Kayak is not really a romantic activity, since you are likely to fall into the water. However, it is really fun and exciting to row yourself. These days, many Koreans visit Han River to ride kayak.

In fact, Han River is a very safe watershed, and is a really good place to start any water activities. Kayak riding is one of them.

If you are worrying about being cast away by the wave, you don't have to worry. The path is limited to certain areas and there are always life guards among the shore, ready to jump in. It is okay to fall in to the water, it might even be cooler.

Han River Attraction： 6. Duck Boat（오리배）

Address：서울시 광진구 자양동 126-1（Line7 Ttukseom Resort Station Exit 2)

Unlike Tubester, which is powered by electicity, the duck boat has to be pedaled by people. (Max 3 people, 18,000KRW, 30 min). Of course if you are lazy, you can choose the automatic one, which costs a lot more. (Max 3 people, 25,000KRW, 30 min).

Shape of the duck boat is really cute and lovely. It is one of the hottest activities in summer that couples come to enjoy. Two people can slowly pedal the boat and enjoy the scenery of the Han River. It is really a worthwhile activity.
