What to Do At Gyeongbokgung

161 Sajik-ro, Sejongno, Jongno-gu, Seoul
Closed every Tuesday
Built in 1394, Gyeongbokgung is the largest of the five largest palaces in Korea. In 1865, Gyeongbokgung Palace was destroyed due to the lost in war and rebuilt until Joseon Gojong.
However, years of war and the unscrupulous demolitions of the Japanese colonial period repeatedly hurt the traditional appearance of Gyeongbokgung. It was finally until the independence of South Korea dismantled the Japanese Governor’s Office and rebuilt the Gwanghwamun Gate, and repaired the Gyeongbokgung Palace. It then returns to the recent appearance.
No matter the season and day and night, it is a great place to visit. Every year, Gyeongbokgung regularly opens nighttime visits to show tourists and the Korean people a different face of Gyeongbokgung.
