Our Visit
Hidden between Bukchon Hanok VIllage and Samcheong-dong is this beautiful cafe where the owner hand makes all the cakes!
As you can see, it's not a huge cafe but it's very cozy!
A closer look at the cafe and you'll enjoy all its small details of their interior.
There were beautiful props everywhere that fit the overall cozy atmosphere of the cafe.
There are a lot of cakes that you can choose from. Each one is 9,000 KRW and a whole cake is 42,000 KRW! They are all made by scratch by the owner, so they are really worth the money.
We were so excited to get started on eating our cakes!
We got the cream custard cake (9,000 KRW) and it was delicious! First, there was not too much cream and it was not overwhelmingly sweet!
We also got the Kiwi Juice (7,000 KRW) to go with it. We loved this because it was fruity and refreshing, and was a perfect balance with the sweet and creamy cake.
We also got the classic Iced Americano (4,500 KRW). This is a drink that Koreans love to get! We can see why because it pairs perfectly with sweets. The bitter taste of the coffee works well with the sweet taste of the cake!
We also wanted to try out the Chocolate Cake (9,000 KRW). The cream at the top of the cake was really delicious and was perfect with the rice and smooth chocolatey cake. We were not surprised at how popular this cake was!
For all our cheesecake lovers out there, this Blueberry Cheesecake (9,000 KRW) was an amazing cake as well! The cheese was so soft and rich and the blueberries were incredibly refreshing! You won't get tired of this combination.
We also got curious with some of the other drink options! The Sangria (8,000KRW) and the Tinto de Verano (8,000 KRW) caught our eye and we had to try them out as well!
The Sangria is a wine-based cocktail and is also one of the traditional Spanish drinks. In addition to alcohol, this drink also contains a variety of fruits and carbonated water. It is sweet and has a refreshing fruity taste. It is definitely a perfect drink for the summer!
The Tinto de Verano is also a traditional Spanish drink. We heard that locals like to drink Tinto de Verano rather than Sangria...(let us know if this is true in the comments below!). Soda and lemon were added to the red wine. This was just as delicious as the Sangria!
One of the menu items that we were really excited to try was the Mango Bingsu (16,000 KRW). If you are a fan of mango and bingsu, we highly recommend this menu! The mango was fresh and the shaved ice was shaved so finely that it was like snow! This is also a must-try item for the hot summer days.
