Seoul Subway Line 1 was the first metro line introduced in Korea, it is not only long but also complicated. Part 1 of our metro tour guide of line 1 is places located in Seoul city.

1.Seoul Station (서울역)

Site 1-1：Lotte Mart Seoul Station (서울롯데마트)<Source: 일간투데이>

Lotte Mart, Seoul station brunch is a must-go place to most of the tourists. There is a Lotte Outlet right beside.

Please note that the business hours of Lotte Mart is 10:00~00:00, on-site tax refund service is available. Don't have to worry about your baggage limitation because you can simply just send them back by EMS here!

 

2. City Hall Station (시청역)

Cheonggyecheon Stream thas a wide range, the starting point Cheonggye Plaza is located in City Hall Station of line 1. Here will hold special events from time to time.

In addition to the events organized by the Seoul government, the section of Cheonggyecheon stream from the City Hall Station to the Jonggak Station on line 1 is the most crowded location. It is also the clearest and the most charming place on the entire river.

3. Jonggak Station (종각역)

Site 3-1：Bosingak (보신각)

The large bell in Bosingak Pavilion rings every day and is one of the most important cultural heritages on Line 1. Although it may not be as eye-catchy in daily life, yet, on the New Year's Eve, the Bosingak Pavilion will be the venue for the grandest New Year's event in Seoul.

 Site 3-2：Starbucks Reserve, "The Jong-no" store (스타벅스 더 종로점)

Starbucks Reserve, "The Jong-no" store is the Starbucks of Starbucks, with the mega-scale in space and selling products.

4. Jongno 3-ga Station (종로3가역)

Site 4：Ikseondong (익선동)

Ikseondong is a trendy neighbourhood that hidden in lanes. Hanoks here are in a relatively modern style that is rare to see in Seoul city. Many people come to visit for its unique atmosphere and have a 70s/80s cosplay photoshoot tour.

5. Jongno 5-ga Station (종로5가역)

Site 5：Gwangjang Market (광장시장)

Gwangjang Market is not only Korean, but even foreign tourists like to come here! Where foreign friends come to Korea must come once! 

The biggest reason is that Korean street food, traditional food, etc. can be tasted in one place~ Not only can you experience the unique scenes and vitality of the market, but you can also for the low price! The most famous street food in Gwangjang Market is “Bindaetteok, mung bean pancakes”, “Yukhoe, Korean-style raw beef” and “ Addictive Gimbap”!

6. Dongdaemun Station (동대문역)

Site 6：Heunginjimun (흥인지문)

Heunginjimun, "Gate of Rising Benevolence", which architectural landscape is gorgeous and magnificent, and it is the last oasis in the Dongdaemun business district. Compared with the modern landscape on the side, it has an ancient taste and historical significance.

7. Dongmyo Station (동묘앞역)

Due to the broadcast of , the second-hand market has been popular in Seoul. Unlike the Gwangjang market, which is familiar to tourists, this is not a market for food. 

A variety of Korean vintage products such as second-hand clothes, nostalgic discs, typewriters, refrigerators and DVDs can be found here. These rare and valuable things, though rare, are sold at unexpectedly cheap prices~

Although it used to be a place where only middle-aged people gathered, after the rumours of many valuable items hidden in it gradually spread among, young people began to come here, which also brought some vitality to the market. Especially for students who want to buy luxury products but have low budgets and also camouflage clothes lovers often come visit.

In addition, many Korean items from 70s/80s are sold here that also attracts people who are interested in retro style or nostalgic shop decoration often come visit!

Site 7-2：Jomaru 24/7 Pork Bone Soup（조마루감자탕신설점）

This is the most famous restaurant around Dongmyo station. You can order a personal size or a whole pan order count by people unit.

Site 7-3：E-mart（동묘이마트）

Located nearby Cheonggyecheon at Dongmyo, with 2 floors, you can get everything from daily necessities, daily necessities, and food and beverage.

8. Jegi-dong Station (제기동역)

Site 8：Seoul Medicine Market (약량시장)

It belongs to the traditional market that is truly on the ground! Seoul Medicine Market is a place that only sells herbal medicines. After getting off at the Jegi-dong Station, you can smell the faint medicinal herbs and make people clean from the inside out. feel.

Going in the other direction, you can go to the Gyeongdong Market and the Ginseng market, which is the biggest market for different kinds of ginseng, even for the red ginseng.

9. Hoegi Station (회기역)

Site 9：Kyung Hee University (경희대학교)

To say that the most beautiful university campus in Seoul, we must give a ticket to Kyung Hee University because such a magnificent and vast campus landscape can be said to have never been seen before. And for all seasons, for friends who come to travel, visiting Kyung Hee University has already become a must-go.

The European-style campus with its strong Baroque architecture highlights its splendour during the day and at dusk.

10. Yangju Station (양주역)

Site 10：NARI Park (나리공원)

Located in the suburb of Seoul, Yangju Nari Park has its best scenery in fall! There are many flower seas in different kinds in fall construct a beautiful picture. You can find Kochia scoparia/ Summer Cypress) (댑싸리)?, Pink Muhly Grass (핑크뮬리), Cosmos Flowers (코스모스) and Globe amaranth (천일홍) here.
