As more international travelers come to Korea to experience K-beauty, more and more people are looking beyond skincare and lifting, they also want to manage the overall lines and balance of the face as a whole.
In particular, facial asymmetry, like when one jawline looks more lifted in photos or your left and right sides feel different in size, is a concern that more people than you might think pay attention to. Even everyday habits, like chewing on only one side or resting your chin on your hand, can affect the balance of the muscles around your face.
In Korea, you can also address these concerns not only through dermatology treatments, but through Korean medicine-based approaches that manage the balance of the muscles around the face, the TMJ, and even the neck. Recently, as the number of international patients using Korean medicine has grown significantly, it has been gaining attention as one of the care methods you can experience only in Korea.
This time, Our editor visited 'Acro Korean Medicine Clinic' in person. After checking current body condition and lifestyle habits, we tried ONDA Face 60kJ, which helps refine facial lines, along with facial asymmetry correction, which manages balance in the muscles and TMJ together.
From a multilingual intake form to the director’s consultation with real-time translation, their system for international visitors is well set up, so even if you do not speak Korean, you can still discuss your concerns in detail while receiving care. From here, we will walk you through the actual visit process and introduce the two treatments Our editor personally experienced.

Why We Recommend Acro Korean Medicine Clinic
1. A multilingual system for international visitors, from the questionnaire to the consultation
On your first visit, you’ll fill out a medical questionnaire, and it’s available not only in Korean, but also in Japanese, English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, and Thai.
Even if you’re not comfortable with Korean, it was fairly easy to write down your concerns and symptoms.
Especially in the doctor’s consultation room, explanations are translated in real time into your preferred language on a large screen, and you can also use chat to communicate directly with the doctor. It felt like a major advantage for international visitors who worry about whether they’ll be able to clearly explain their concerns to the medical staff.
2. Treatment Based on Simple Test Results
After filling out the questionnaire, I had my height and weight, InBody, blood pressure, and an RSA test measured.
The RSA test is done in a simple way by placing your fingertip on an optical sensor, it checks cardiovascular function and the balance of the autonomic nervous system, and looks at indicators related to stress and blood vessel elasticity.
Rather than jumping straight into the treatment I wanted, they reviewed the various test results together with my usual concerns before the consultation, which made the process feel much more systematic.
3. Thorough Care from an Experienced Medical Team

At 'Acro Korean Medicine Clinic,' three directors provide consultations, and all three are authors of research papers related to weight loss.
Our editor received a consultation directly from the head director, they carefully reviewed everything step by step, from the test results done earlier to everyday lifestyle habits and concerns, then explained what kind of care would be needed.
4. Managing both your facial “line” and “balance” together
What Our editor was concerned about that day was sagging in the lower part of the face and facial asymmetry.
After the consultation, Our editor was recommended ONDA Face 60kJ to refine the facial line, along with facial asymmetry correction, which looks at the balance of the muscles, jaw joint, and cervical spine together.
Because they work from different angles, it was great that in a single visit you can manage both your facial line and overall balance at the same time.
Acro Korean Medicine Clinic | Treatment Overview
ONDA Face
![]()
ONDA is an ultra shortwave (microwave) device by Italy’s DEKA, and the treatment uses either a 3mm or 7mm handpiece depending on your facial condition and the area being treated.
If facial asymmetry correction focuses on balancing the muscles and joints, ONDA is geared toward improving the contour and firmness of the lower face, such as the double chin area or deeper cheek fat.
Our editor chose the ONDA Face 60kJ option, focusing on areas of concern for sagging along the jawline and lower face. The procedure took about 30 minutes.
We were told there is no need for a long recovery period afterward, so it can be a relatively easy add-on even if you want to continue your travel plans. When results appear and how long they last can vary depending on factors like your skin and fat condition.
Facial Asymmetry Correction
![]()
If habits like chewing only on one side, resting your chin on your hand, or certain sleeping positions are repeated over time, the chewing muscles on one side can become tense, which may make the left and right sides of your face look unbalanced.
Facial Asymmetry Correction at Acro Korean Medicine Clinic is not just about managing the face, it is carried out by relaxing muscles such as the masseter, pterygoid, and suboccipital muscles, while also checking the balance of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and the cervical spine.
The process goes like this:
① Take before and after photos under the same conditions
→ ② Muscle relaxation Chuna (Korean manual therapy) plus TMJ and cervical spine correction
→ ③ Pharmacopuncture and acupuncture
→ ④ Compare photos immediately after, and check changes in the mirror
Total time takes about 50 minutes to 1 hour.
Since this method focuses on releasing muscle tension, some people notice a change in left to right balance right after the session, but the degree of change and how long it lasts can vary depending on your individual condition and daily habits.
Acro Korean Medicine Clinic | Interior Atmosphere
Inside Acro Korean Medicine Clinic, the space is designed in clean, calming ivory and beige tones. Natural light streams in through large windows, and the waiting area has sofas, creating an overall bright, comfortable atmosphere.
The reception desk and consultation area were also neatly organized, and the consultation seats are separated, so it did not feel crowded or hectic even on a first visit. Rather than feeling like a traditional Korean medicine clinic, it felt more like a clean, modern clinic. It seemed like a place where international travelers could visit comfortably without any pressure.
'Acro Korean Medicine Clinic/ | Our Visit
STEP 1. Fill Out a Multilingual Intake Form
When you arrive at Acro Korean Medicine Clinic, the first thing you do is fill out an intake form at the front desk.
They have a variety of languages available, including Japanese, English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, and Thai, so it was easy for foreign visitors to complete as well.
![]()
At a hospital you are visiting for the first time, you might feel nervous even about what to write, but being able to do the intake in your preferred language seemed like it would really reduce the stress of the visit.
STEP 2. Body Measurements & RSA Test
After filling out the intake form, we moved on to a few quick tests. They measured height and weight, InBody, and blood pressure, and then we did the RSA test.
The RSA test was simple, you just place your finger on an optical sensor, so it was over quickly. They explained that it is a process to check indicators related to autonomic nervous system balance, stress, and more.
It was impressive that instead of jumping straight into the procedure, they first checked various indicators related to my current physical condition.
STEP 3. Program and pricing overview in the consultation room
After the tests, we had a consultation.
They first explained the types of treatments available at Acro Korean Medicine Clinic, the prices, and which concerns each one is best suited for. Rather than rushing us to decide right away, they guided us through the overall program so we could understand it, then moved on to the doctor’s appointment, which made it feel low-pressure even though it was our first visit.
STEP 4. Consultation with the Head Doctor & Real-Time Multilingual Support
Next, we moved to the doctor’s office for the main consultation.
Our editor was seen by the head doctor, and we reviewed the test results on a large screen together while he asked, one by one, about current concerns and symptoms.
The biggest concerns for Our editor that day were weight loss, facial lifting, and facial asymmetry.
He also checked the pulse directly, then looked over the test results along with everyday habits, and recommended ONDA for facial contouring, and corrective care for the facial asymmetry that had been bothering us due to a habit of chewing on one side.
Above all, the best part was the clinic’s real-time translation system in the consultation room.

The doctor’s explanations were instantly translated into multiple languages on a large screen, and we could also ask questions and get answers in real time through chat when needed. It made us feel that even if you are a foreign visitor who finds Korean difficult, you would have no trouble explaining your symptoms or understanding the consultation.
He also showed us the methods used for facial asymmetry correction and the diet herbal medicine in person. In the case of the herbal medicine, he even opened it up to show what was inside and explained how it was prepared, which made us feel much more at ease.
STEP 5. ONDA Face 60kJ
After finishing the consultation, we moved to the treatment room and started with ONDA.
![]()
Our editor received ONDA Face 60kJ, and they took extra care, focusing especially on the jawline and the sagging areas around the lower face that were the main concern. The treatment took about 30 minutes.
![]()
Our editor had always been interested in lifting treatments, but it was hard to decide because of the cost and the pressure of getting a procedure, so it was great to be able to take care of facial contouring with relatively less burden.
Also, being able to continue with the next plan without a long recovery time after the treatment seems like a real plus for travelers visiting during their trip.
STEP 6. Facial Asymmetry Correction
Next, I got the facial asymmetry correction that I was most excited about.
Our editor usually has a habit of chewing on one side, so when taking photos, it was a concern that the left and right facial lines looked different. But getting a major procedure felt a bit daunting, so it was interesting to learn that at a Korean medicine clinic, you can manage it by directly relaxing the muscles and temporomandibular joint (TMJ).
After taking “before” photos under the same conditions, the muscle relaxation treatment began.
![]()
What stood out the most was the process of directly releasing even the muscles inside the mouth.
With gloves on, the director placed a hand inside my mouth and worked through the tight, knotted areas one by one. At first it was fairly tender and sore, but as time went on, I could feel the tension gradually easing.
![]()
Maybe because I chew a lot on one side, there were also spots that didn’t loosen easily,
![]()
so for those areas, they also used pharmacopuncture made with 100% herbal medicine ingredients to help the tense muscles relax more effectively.
And it didn’t end with just facial care.
After fully releasing the TMJ and the muscles around the face, they also adjusted the neck and cervical spine together.
I especially liked that they didn’t treat facial asymmetry as only a “face” issue, but checked the connected areas as well.
The entire process took about an hour, and rather than rushing through just one area, I could really feel how carefully the director treated me, continuously checking the left and right sides throughout.
Wrap-up | How It Felt to Try It Myself
What stayed with me most about Acro Korean Medicine Clinic was that it did not feel like you just get one procedure and that is it.
From the test results to your lifestyle habits and concerns, they first take a close look at everything, then recommend the care you actually need, the whole process felt very structured. Especially with the Facial Asymmetry Correction, I could tell the medical staff were carefully checking my condition throughout, as they worked step by step, loosening everything from the muscles inside the mouth to the TMJ, and even the cervical spine.
If, like Our editor, you are bothered by facial asymmetry due to a habit of chewing on one side, or you want to take care of both your lower face line and firmness, it might be a good idea to come in for a consultation.
And from an overseas traveler’s perspective, above all, the multilingual questionnaire and real-time translation consultation system are a major plus. Even if you do not speak Korean, you can clearly explain your concerns and fully understand the director’s explanations during your visit, so it is a place I would feel comfortable recommending even to foreigners visiting a Korean medicine clinic for the first time.
