Farstar Studio Mangwon | Our Visit

This time, we visited “Farstar Studio” in Mangwon to take profile photos and ID photos.

As a studio that specializes in actor and model profiles, they provide thoughtful direction so even first-timers can pose naturally and feel comfortable throughout the shoot.

It is also a popular spot among Korean influencers, so we were even more excited before our visit!

Before entering, you first change into slippers and then head into the studio.

As soon as we stepped inside, it felt cozy and warm rather than overly flashy. Thanks to the comfortable space, even first-time visitors can get ready without feeling pressured.

Most of all, the photographer welcomed us so kindly, and the conversation flowed naturally even before the shoot started, which helped us relax right away. It was impressive how thoughtfully they made sure even people with no shooting experience could feel confident and at ease!

The studio has a separate waiting room and changing area, so you can prepare comfortably.

Before the shoot, the photographer gave us plenty of time to get ready, so we could calmly fix our hair, makeup, and outfit.

If you would like to change outfits, you can bring your own, and if you bring several options, the photographer will recommend styles that match the shoot concept and your personal vibe. That makes it easy even for those who are not sure which outfit suits them best!

There is a large full-length mirror in the waiting room, so you can check your overall styling carefully before shooting.

They also have a variety of hair-styling items ready, including a curling iron, cotton swabs, a roll brush, hairspray, and a hair dryer, so you can touch up your hair and makeup right until the last minute.

Once you are ready, you can do one final touch-up for your hair and outfit in the large mirror outside the waiting room.

After checking your overall look one last time, the shoot begins in earnest. Now all you need to do is get ready to capture your most natural, best look!

We started with the profile photo session.

Before we began, the photographer carefully asked about the mood or style we wanted, and whether there were any poses we wanted to try. Even if you do not have a specific concept in mind, there is no need to worry, they recommend styles and poses that match your image and vibe, which made the shoot feel much more relaxed.

Then, before the main session, we did a quick test shoot first.

After taking a few simple shots, we reviewed the results together and compared whether cool or warm tones suited us better. They also explained the pros and cons of each and what kind of vibe fit us best, which was a huge help in choosing the style we wanted!

After the test shoot, the photographer recommended warm tones as the best match for my image. Once the lighting and color were finalized, the main shoot began.

The first set was shot sitting on a chair, and they placed a small table in front to help make hand poses feel more natural and comfortable.

Once shooting started, the photographer guided everything in detail, including where to look and how to shape your expression, as well as your face angle, hand placement, and posture.

They kept suggesting different poses and movements throughout, so there was no time to worry about what to do. Even for me, who felt awkward in front of the camera, it was easy to relax and focus on the shoot.

Whenever my hair, bangs, or outfit got slightly messy during the shoot, the photographer immediately checked and fixed it.

It was impressive how carefully they paid attention to even the smallest details, and they clearly understood the little points that many women tend to be mindful of. Thanks to their thoughtful care, even as a first-timer, I felt comfortable and reassured from start to finish.

At the end of each concept, the photographer showed us the photos right away.

We reviewed the results together to carefully check whether the vibe matched what we wanted, and they also gave natural compliments that boosted my confidence, helping the next set continue in an even more comfortable atmosphere.

Next, after clearing away the chair and table, we continued with a concept shot sitting on the floor.

The photographer quickly set up the lighting to match the concept, so the wait was not long and the shoot flowed smoothly.

During the shoot, they guided me step by step, where to place my hands and which direction to look for a more natural feel, so it was easy to proceed without overthinking poses.

We kept shooting with various poses while staying seated on the floor.

They suggested many options, like slightly changing the direction of my body or naturally moving my legs, so the mood could shift even within the same posture.

Even small differences in angle and hand movement made a big change in the overall feel, so we were able to capture a wide range of moods throughout. Thanks to that, we could shoot multiple styles of profile photos within a single concept.

In the middle of shooting, we also tried motions like casually sweeping my hair back or creating a windblown effect. Using a fan to add breeze made it feel like we were shooting an editorial or celebrity-style profile, it was such a special experience, haha.

Especially while using the fan, the photographer kept checking carefully to make sure my contact lenses were not drying out and that I was not uncomfortable. Thanks to that thoughtful attention, I was able to finish the shoot feeling relaxed the whole time.

After that, the photographer also recommended a lying-down pose. They said it creates a natural vibe and turns out beautifully, and once we saw the results, it was immediately clear why they suggested it.

Rather than only explaining the pose, the photographer demonstrated it in person, which made it much easier to understand. You could simply follow along to get a natural posture, so it seems perfect even for anyone who is not confident with posing.

After finishing the profile photos, we wrapped up with ID photos and half-body profile shots.

The ID photos focused on a neat, clean look, and the half-body profile shots were taken in a variety of moods while highlighting natural expressions and posture.

For the half-body profile shots, we used a taller chair. The height made it easy to create different poses and angles naturally, and it helped capture an even wider range of vibes.

Even during the shoot, the photographer continued checking and tidying up the outfit, smoothing wrinkles and fixing anything out of place, so we could look forward to even more polished results!

Another great perk here is that after the profile shoot, they also include a digital camera session.

Recently, the unique vintage feel of digital cameras has become very popular among young people in Korea. To match the trend, they take about 10 extra digital camera photos, and you can receive the original files right after the shoot, which made the experience even more satisfying.

Image 2

For the digital camera shots, the photographer told us that instead of tensing up or overthinking posture, it is better to pose comfortably like you would when taking Life Four Cuts (photo booth strip photos) for a more natural and cute result.

Thanks to that, we could try different expressions and poses without pressure, and we ended up with natural, sentimental photos that felt different from the profile shots, making it an even more special memory.

After all the shooting was finished, we took time to choose the final photos.

The photographer gave us plenty of time, so we could compare each shot at a relaxed pace. When we were not sure what to choose, they kindly recommended options by explaining the strengths of each photo and what kind of vibe it suited best. Thanks to that, the selection process also felt easy and comfortable!

Even when we shot the same pose, the mood turned out completely different depending on subtle changes in expression, gaze, and face angle.

Even with the same pose, the mood came out differently depending on the expression, gaze, and the direction of the face. Each photo had its own charm, to the point where it was hard to decide which ones to pick...!

After we selected all the photos, the photographer did the first round of retouching.

Once the first retouching was done, we reviewed the results together, and they carefully asked if there was anything we wanted to improve or anything we are usually self-conscious about.

They reflected our requests right away and listened thoroughly, so it did not feel like one-sided editing, it felt like we were completing the final result together, which made it even more satisfying.

And here is the final finished result!

After reflecting the feedback, they completed the final retouching as well, and we were able to receive profile photos that felt natural yet highly polished.

Once the final retouching is complete, they print the photos and place them in a clean envelope for you.

Thanks to that, we could receive results that captured our best look naturally without feeling artificial. It became a set of profile photos we will want to keep for a long time, and this shoot turned into an even more special memory :)

From shooting and direction to retouching, every step was satisfying. What impressed us most was that even people who normally feel awkward taking photos can end up with results that naturally capture their unique charm.

If you want to create a special memory during your trip to Korea, or take profile photos you will treasure for a long time, this is a studio we can confidently recommend!
