For exams that required changing or removing clothing, the coordinator didn’t go in with my friend, of course—but up until that point, she kept explaining what each test would involve and what to expect.

Abdominal Fat CT Scan / Ultrasound / Urine Test

Ultrasound actually took a bit longer than expected. My friend initially wondered if something might be wrong just because it was taking longer than expected—and honestly, I started to feel the same way. Later, the coordinator explained that the sonographer here is known for being especially thorough.

This was the final step of the checkup—the gastroscopy. Before starting, there was one more quick consultation to make sure she was okay to proceed with the procedure. After that, she drank a solution to clear out any foam in the stomach and then headed into the endoscopy room.

She opted for sedation, and later told me she fell asleep almost instantly so fast that she doesn’t really remember the procedure at all.
