Ohn Studio Myeongdong | Our Visit

Today, I visited Ohn Studio with a friend to do a personal color consultation and take profile photos.
Ohn Studio is a studio in Myeongdong where you can experience personal color analysis, style recommendations, and profile photography all in one go.
It’s not just about taking photos, they first help you identify the colors and mood that suit you, then shoot based on that style, which made it even more exciting.
As soon as you walk in, you’ll see lots of displayed profile photos, each with bold personalities and vibrant colors, from the entrance all the way inside.
Every photo has a different mood and style, it’s fun to look at, and it naturally makes you curious about what your own photos will turn out like.
The studio’s interior is mainly bright, clean white, and the floors and space are kept impressively neat.
Overall, it feels warm with a touch of cuteness, a space where you can feel comfortable even on your first visit.

Right when we entered, the staff greeted us warmly and guided us through everything.
They also provided a place to hang coats and a space to set down personal belongings, so we could easily organize our clothes and luggage.
Since personal color consultations and photo shoots happen in the same studio, they have a wide range of drapes in different colors, plus various tools used for personal color analysis.
Also, the consultation space and the shooting space are separated, so they don’t interfere with each other and you can proceed comfortably, that really stood out to me.
Overall, the space feels very professional, and seeing everything set up like this made me even more excited about the consultation.

After we got an explanation and sat down, my friend started her personal color consultation first.
The director asked if she had done a personal color analysis before and explained the overall process.
The whole session had a friendly, relaxed vibe, so even first-timers can get consulted with no pressure.
After a brief overview, they explained why personal color analysis matters and the basic principles behind it. The instructor walked us through step by step why it’s important to know your best colors, so it was easy to follow.
They also explained the basic concept of warm vs. cool tones, for example, distinguishing them by whether a color has a slight yellow undertone.
After the explanation, we did a quick mini quiz using color cards.
We looked at different cards and guessed which ones were warm-toned and which were cool-toned.
At first, a few colors were confusing, but after the explanation, when I looked again, the differences became much clearer.
My friend has done personal color consultations before, and most of her results were cool-toned.
This time, based on her current look and skin tone, the staff did the analysis again.
The consultation works by alternating many different drapes, and by comparing colors one by one, you can clearly see which shades make the face look brighter and more refreshed.

Surprisingly, the result this time was Spring Light.
After comparing brighter colors, we realized that rather than cool tones, warm shades made her face look brighter and more lively.
That said, she has fairly light skin, so most colors looked relatively harmonious on her.
So her range of wearable colors is quite wide, too.

The instructor explained the characteristics of the Spring Light type in detail. The biggest feature is an overall bright, fresh feel.
It tends to make you look friendly and gentle, naturally giving a cute, upbeat vibe.
She also said my friend suits clear, light tones more than strong or heavy colors.
Using these shades makes the face look brighter and the complexion appear more translucent.
In particular, Spring Light highlights a bright, youthful image, so using light pastels or warm-toned colors can create an even more charming atmosphere.

My friend’s best palette was Spring Light, and the palette to avoid most was Winter Deep.
When choosing clothes or makeup, she usually uses cool-toned colors, so we naturally assumed she was cool-toned.
But after doing the personal color consultation again, it came out as Spring Light, which was pretty surprising!
Watching from the side, the instructor switched the drapes one by one and compared them, and you could really see how the overall feel of the face changes depending on the color. Differences that weren’t obvious at first slowly became clearer.
Some cool-toned colors made her look calmer or a bit less lively than expected. On the other hand, when she tried bright, warm shades, her face looked more radiant and energized.
Especially with Spring Light colors, her skin looked clearer and softer, and her overall vibe appeared much brighter.
In contrast, darker, stronger shades like Winter Deep stood out more than her gentle vibe, making her complexion look a bit heavy.
It was different from the image she usually had in mind, but once we compared them in real time, it was easy to understand why Spring Light suited her best, it looked so harmonious. Observing the whole process also felt amazing to me, it made me appreciate the appeal of personal color analysis all over again!
After the personal color consultation was mostly finished, we moved on to a body frame and shape analysis.
First, they measured my friend’s shoulder width, waist, hips, and bust. Confirming body shape with real numbers felt more systematic and professional than relying on visual impressions alone.
During the frame analysis, they examined her body features and lines, and explained in detail what clothing styles suit her best.
My friend was told that rather than overly simple styles, outfits with some focal points or design elements suit her better. For example, tops with details, decorative elements, or patterned clothing naturally draw the eye and improve overall balance.
Also, with this kind of analysis, once you understand what fits your body type, it becomes much easier to choose clothes and style yourself in the future. We also discovered body traits she hadn’t really noticed before, which made it a meaningful time for her.

Since this program analyzes your overall image comprehensively, the next step was hair color recommendations.
I’m sure many people can relate, it’s so common to wonder which hair color suits you best.
The studio has a wide variety of hair swatches in many colors, which really helps solve that concern.
You can actually hold different shades next to your face and compare them, making it much easier to see what suits you.
Going through the swatches one by one was really fun, we even found that some colors she’d never tried before unexpectedly looked great on her.
The instructor said my friend suits lighter brown tones more than pure black hair.
Shades like golden brown, ash brown, or warm beige and linen brown were all a great match for her.
They recommended several warm-toned hair colors and compared them directly next to her face, and once you see it in person, you can definitely notice subtle differences in the overall vibe.
Interestingly, after comparing a few shades, the instructor mentioned that my friend’s current hair color already suits her very well.
So she doesn’t need a drastic change, just keeping her current color is great. That made her feel even happier.
Next, they also recommended eyeglass styles.
Instead of real glasses, they use transparent card samples shaped like frames and place them over the face to compare what looks best.
After looking at my friend’s face shape and features, they said that rather than very thin frames, slightly thicker frames suit her better.
Since the distance between her eyes and eyebrows is relatively wide, they suggested styles like browline frames or plastic frames with a defined upper line.
With that style, the proportions of the face also look better.

Another interesting part is that they also do a contact lens consultation.
But since my friend was already wearing contacts that day, the photographer simply explained which contact lens colors suit her best.
The instructor also said that for a more precise diagnosis, it’s best not to wear colored contacts, so they can more accurately see your natural iris color and overall vibe.

They also checked and evaluated her eyebrows at the same time.
After looking at her face shape and overall vibe, the instructor said that instead of completely straight brows, a slightly arched shape suits her better.
He explained that adding a soft arch makes the face look gentler and more natural. It also fits her image well, making the overall impression brighter and more balanced.
So when she does her makeup in the future, rather than drawing her brows too flat and straight, keeping a natural, slightly lifted curve will suit her more!

They also recommended lip colors and overall makeup style.
The instructor said that since my friend’s personal color is Spring Light, soft shades with warmth are the best choice overall.
In particular, peachy pinks, beige tones, and coral shades are a great match.
For makeup style, rather than anything too heavy or intense, a clear, fresh “juice makeup” look suits her better. Using those tones makes the face look brighter and highlights her cheerful, cute image even more.
Once you know which lip and makeup tones match your personal colors, it becomes much easier to choose cosmetics and do your makeup in the future, it’s seriously helpful.
With that, the personal color consultation process was complete.
At the end, after returning to our seats, the instructor organized and explained the overall results.
They reviewed everything we found today, like which colors suit her best and which ones to avoid.
All results are also clearly written on the consultation sheet, so you can look back at it later as a reference. Having everything neatly organized like this is really helpful when choosing outfits or makeup later on.

And the part we were most excited for was the profile photo shoot based on the personal color results.
They said they would use the earlier consultation results to shoot in the style and vibe that suit her best.
The shooting space felt cozy and warmly decorated, so you don’t feel nervous and can relax while taking photos.
Also, there are multiple background options you can choose from, so you can shoot based on the mood you want, which is another big plus.
Shooting based on personal color analysis and style diagnosis feels more special than a simple photo session, it’s like a process of discovering the look that suits you best.

Based on the results, my friend slightly adjusted her makeup and hairstyle, then started preparing for the official shoot according to the day’s analysis.
With detailed adjustments based on her personal colors and style, her overall look already felt more focused and cohesive even before shooting, which made us even more excited to capture beautiful photos in the version of herself that suits her best.
We started with ID photos.
Before shooting, they briefly confirmed the purpose of the photos and the vibe she wanted, then we began.
The photographer carefully adjusted my friend’s posture and facial angles one by one.
Watching from the side, I noticed they continuously guided tiny details like facial expression, eye direction, and chin angle.
At first, my friend looked a bit nervous, but the photographer guided her in a relaxed way, and the shoot gradually started to feel more natural.

After finishing the ID photos, we moved on to the profile photo shoot.
Unlike ID photos, profile photos can capture a more natural vibe and a variety of poses. My friend looked much more relaxed than at the beginning, and her expressions were a lot more natural too.
During the shoot, the photographer guided her through poses and eye lines that fit the mood. Watching from the side, I could really see that even in the same spot, changing posture and angle makes the photo feel completely different.
The shoot took about 10 to 15 minutes.
The photographer kindly guided expressions and poses step by step, so even if it’s your first time, it’s easy to follow.
They carefully coached her on how to smile more naturally and which direction to turn her head slightly, and she gradually relaxed. Thanks to that, the whole shoot flowed naturally in a comfortable atmosphere. It was a wonderful time that captured her natural charm and vibe.
After the shoot, we moved straight to the retouching area next door.
We reviewed the photos on the spot and did the editing together in real time.
Since the photographer was right there working with us, we could immediately point out what we wanted adjusted, which made communication much more direct and saved a lot of time.
First, we looked through the photos one by one and chose our favorite shot. Since there were several images to compare, it was easy to pick the one that looked the most natural and most flattering.
Once we selected the photo, the photographer started retouching right away. They kept the overall mood, while naturally refining skin tone and small details, so the final image looked cleaner and more polished.
We could also watch the editing process next to them and follow along, and if there was anything we wanted changed, we could ask and have it adjusted immediately. The level of detail even in the final stage really impressed me.

And here is the final photo. Isn’t it so beautiful!
The Spring Light vibe comes through so well, it really feels like spring.
The bright, vivid colors suit my friend perfectly, and the soft, cute atmosphere unique to Spring Light is naturally captured in the photo.
This is the finished set we received at the end, the quality is seriously great, it instantly put me in a better mood when I opened it.
There are various sizes, perfect for keeping as a keepsake, and also great as a travel souvenir.
It looks even more premium in the matte envelope, my friend said she was very satisfied :)
