NAYE Hanbok | Our Visit

Today I visited NAYE Hanbok Gyeongbokgung branch to wear a Hanbok and take photos at Gyeongbokgung.

Near Gyeongbokgung there are several Hanbok rental shops, but this place is known for keeping its Hanboks in very clean condition.

I'll go over which design I chose today, the actual rental process, and how it felt to wear it!

When I stepped into the shop, I found the selection of Hanbok was much more varied than I expected.

Hanbok are organized by color and style, with women's and Men's Hanbok separated into different sections, making it easy to compare and choose.

Above all, the outfits felt very well cared for, you could tell at a glance that the Hanbok were being kept clean.

The color options are really diverse. They offer a wide range from pastel tones and primary colors to embroidered designs and even gradient styles!

They offer not only adult Hanbok but also children's Hanbok, so families can choose everything at once.

Men's Hanbok are also organized by color, so they're great for couples or friends who want matching tones.

Hanbok are divided by height so you can choose one that fits.

There’s a height guide displayed at the rack so you can easily find a skirt length that fits your height.

There’s also a separate long skirt line prepared for taller customers, so you can choose according to different heights.

You don’t have to worry about sizes, which I thought was a great advantage!

There are so many Hanbok styles that I had a hard time deciding which design to choose.

'NAYE Hanbok' has example photos of actual outfits displayed at each rack, so you can preview the finished look in advance.

Looking at the photos helps you judge how the skirt colors are rendered and what the overall vibe is, which makes choosing easier.

Especially if you're planning a photoshoot, it was much easier to decide because you can choose while imagining the final results.

Because Hanbok comes in so many styles, our editor took a long time comparing options before choosing.

The colors and embroidery details vary slightly, so you’ll need to try them on and check them yourself.

It was fun mixing different jeogori and skirts to find matching colors that suited me.

If you're having trouble choosing, asking a staff member for a recommendation is a good option!

If you tell them the vibe you want, they'll suggest color combinations and popular designs, so it's much easier to decide.

If you tell the staff which Hanbok you like, they will prepare it for you right away.

During the fitting, they check your size on site and adjust the length and fit to match your body shape, and they help you put everything on, so there was almost nothing you needed to worry about.

Even if it’s your first time wearing a Hanbok, they guide you through the whole process and help with dressing and tidying up, so you can wear it comfortably without any hassle.

After you put on the Hanbok, please proceed with Hair styling.

The staff also style your hair for you, shaping it naturally to match your face shape and the vibe of the Hanbok.

Hair styling is divided into a basic free style and upgrade styles that have an additional cost.

There are example style photos posted on-site, so you can pick the design you want by number.

The neat styles, ribbon accents, and traditional binyeo-style hairpins come in many varieties, so it was easy to choose one that matched the Hanbok vibe!

Our editor and a friend went with the basic free hair option.

Even without a flashy style, the braided hair with a pearl pin and floral decorations added enough detail to make the look feel complete.

You don’t need heavy makeup to match a Hanbok, it pairs well with a natural look.

Above all, the stylist worked very quickly, finishing the look in no time with skilled hands!

After your hair is done, you can choose a Handbag.

The display table has embroidered Handbags that match Hanbok, prepared in a wide range of colors so you have many options to choose from.

The colors vary widely, including ivory, navy, wine, and lavender, so they’re easy to match with your Hanbok tone!

Our editor and a friend also chose their Handbag to match the skirt colors.

Among the handbags, there are also designs directly made by NAYE Hanbok, labeled as 'NAYE Hanbok Made.'

Their in-house line features distinctive patterns and embroidery details, and I was impressed that they were designed with harmony with Hanbok in mind.

Compared to a regular embroidered Handbag, the finish and overall vibe felt noticeably different.

The size was practical for everyday use, roomy enough to hold basics like a phone or card wallet.

You can also rent shoes that match the Hanbok for an extra fee.

They have both men's and women's options, organized by size so you can pick the right fit on the spot.

You don't need to bring shoes separately, they can match the whole outfit with traditional shoes that go well with Hanbok, which was convenient.

Once everything is ready, pick up a locker key at the counter.

After receiving a key at the counter, you move to the assigned locker and store your belongings yourself.

There’s space to store handbags or personal belongings, and a separate area to hang coats, which makes visits in winter relatively convenient.

CCTV is installed, so the place feels well-managed and trustworthy.

Before heading to Gyeongbokgung, there’s a photo zone right in front of NAYE Hanbok where you can take pictures.

The space is decorated with floral accents and hanok-style latticework, so you can capture the Hanbok atmosphere without even going outside.

You can check the Hanbok fit and color one more time, so it also seemed like a good space to use for a quick test shoot before heading out!

After putting on the Hanbok, we headed to Gyeongbokgung to continue shooting.

This time I wore the Basic line from NAYE Hanbok.

In particular, the red-toned skirts stood out vividly against the traditional architecture, while the pastel-toned skirts created a softer atmosphere, each showing its own charm.

Even in the same location, colors can make the atmosphere look different, so choosing a Hanbok to match the mood you want really changes the final result, which I found impressive.

'NAYE Hanbok' jeogori is a basic white tone, but up close you can see subtle embroidery and gold-thread details that keep it from looking plain.

The collar, goreum (ribbon), and sleeve ends feature the same intricate pattern, creating a luxurious feel.

Especially when it catches the light, the gold-thread sections reflect softly, making the face look noticeably brighter.

I felt it was a shame to stop after wearing just one design, so I tried on another Hanbok too!

If you have time, instead of wearing just one outfit, we recommend trying on another design and color as well.

'NAYE Hanbok' offers so many styles it’s fun to choose, and the mood changes noticeably with different designs and colors, so I felt it would’ve been a shame to stop at just one outfit.

'NAYE Hanbok' Special line Hanbok.

The skirt's full, flowing line is a standout, and the soft pink color gives an overall gentle, bright vibe.

The jeogori is kept in a clean white tone, giving a neat impression without being over the top, and the skirt’s volume helps the overall fit look naturally good in photos.

The pastel pink was a subtle tone that didn’t stand out, so it blended naturally with the calm traditional architecture and harmonized softly with the green dancheong paintwork in the background.

With the pond and pavilion in the background, the overall mood was soft and romantic, and in front of columns or lattice doors the pink color stood out vividly, becoming a focal point in the photos!

'NAYE Hanbok' Premium line Hanbok.

The gradient color lightens toward the bottom, starting with a subtle yellow tone at the top and naturally fading as it goes down.

The layers of color subtly show through, giving it a depth different from a solid color, so the hues feel even more luxurious.

The colors blend naturally without being flashy, creating a more neat and sophisticated look.

The ivory jeogori's embroidery details subtly caught the light, bringing out their fine craftsmanship, and the overall muted colors didn’t stand out against the natural scenery, blending in softly.

Gyeongbokgung is a place where traditional architecture and natural scenery come together, so a neat, understated Hanbok suits it better than an overly flashy style.

So this Premium line had an understated yet luxurious vibe, blending naturally with the space’s atmosphere.

'NAYE Hanbok's skirts naturally flare with every step, giving a full, beautiful look even from the back.

The skirt’s multiple layered fabric billows lightly like it’s holding air, giving photos a more dramatic feeling.

The Special line is unified in a single color so the hues feel vivid, and it’s a style that keeps the full volume emphasized.

Meanwhile, the Premium line features a gradient where two colors blend naturally, giving a softer, richer depth.

The color subtly shifts from top to bottom, giving it a layered look that feels different from a solid color.

'NAYE Hanbok' skirts are designed with the front, side, and back in mind, so you can take naturally polished photos from any angle.

NAYE Hanbok's skirts are so full that even when you sit and spread them out like this, they look really beautiful in photos.

If you sit naturally on stairs or the wooden floor, the skirt fans out into a rounded shape so the whole silhouette is visible at a glance, and the volume is more emphasized.

It creates a more elegant, calm atmosphere, giving a different feeling than when you’re standing.

Peeking your face just slightly through the doorway makes for a pretty shot.

If you and your friend each peek out from either side, you'll naturally start to smile, and even without striking exaggerated poses, the photos come out cute.

The traditional building doors make for great backgrounds, so the colors blend nicely without any fuss, and it really brings out that travel vibe.

Today I rented a Hanbok at NAYE Hanbok and tried on several lines.

The first thing I noticed while trying it on was that everything was well maintained, so it felt clean and tidy overall.

There’s a wide variety, so you have plenty of options depending on color or vibe, and the Hanbok fabrics and embroidery details are well maintained, so they look more polished in photos.

Want to try on Hanbok at Gyeongbokgung?

If you want a well-maintained Hanbok or a place with a wide selection of designs, I highly recommend NAYE Hanbok!
