Hello, I am Kyunghwan Lee, the chief doctor and director of Project U Clinic.

Today I want to talk about one question I've been thinking about for a long time.

Rejuran, exactly what kind of treatment is it

Rejuran is an injectable treatment that uses PN (Polynucleotide) ingredients extracted from salmon to improve the dermis environment and stimulate regeneration. It is fundamentally different from fillers that simply restore volume.

Rejuran is closer to a 'skin regeneration–based treatment' that restores damaged skin conditions, controls inflammatory responses, and gradually improves skin thickness and elasticity. For that reason, abroad it is known as Rejuran Healer, and it has received particularly high interest among Korean dermatology treatments.

Rejuran is often recommended for people in the following situations: when fine lines have increased, when pores and skin texture have become rough, when repeated procedures have thinned the skin, and when internal dryness and sensitivity accompany these issues.

But there was one problem. Many people say this after the procedure, 'Why does it hurt so much?' And another thing, 'Is the drug that's been injected into my skin really being fully absorbed?'

Four Practical Concerns About Rejuran Treatments

The four questions I hear most often in the clinic can be summarized as: pain, medication loss, injection marks and downtime, and variations in effectiveness.

These four issues aren’t just minor inconveniences. They are directly linked to the structural problems of Rejuran treatments. In particular, Drug Loss is something many people don’t fully recognize.

What is Drug Loss

Rejuran must be injected precisely into the dermis to be effective. If the injection depth is inconsistent, or the needles are too thick or the wrong length, the product can flow back out of the skin or spread into the epidermis or subcutaneous layer.

I decided to redesign the procedure from scratch to solve this issue.

The point I cared about most was 'precise dermis placement, precise dosage'.

Core Technique 1: 2mm dermis-specific micro-needle

We replaced all syringes with 2mm dermis-specific micro-needle devices. The needle diameter has been reduced by 35% compared to the previous needles, and the former 5mm length was redesigned to a dedicated length matched to the dermis (about 2mm).

The length is adjusted so it reaches only the dermis, not unnecessarily deeper or shallower. This single change can simultaneously reduce pain, minimize injection marks, and minimize drug loss.

Key Technology 2: 4D Pain Care System (4D Pain Care System)

I believe pain is not something to endure, but something to manage. At Project U Clinic, we apply a multi-stage pain management system.

First, we perform ultrasound-guided nerve anesthesia. Second, we use EMLA topical anesthetic, which has deeper penetration compared to regular lidocaine. Third, the procedure is carried out with the advanced constant flow, constant pressure PRESS (precision injection device) equipped with a pain-management algorithm. Fourth, we use the dedicated 2mm microneedles described above. And if necessary, we can also combine this with respiratory or sedation anesthesia system.

After this process, pain becomes a domain controlled by data rather than sensation.

Drug Loss 0% Rejuran — Full Treatment Process

Project U Clinic's Rejuran procedure proceeds through the following steps.

We start with an analysis consultation using a 3D skin diagnostic device. Next, EMLA topical anesthetic cream is applied, and a personalized treatment design consultation is conducted. Then, nerve block anesthesia is performed, a 2mm dermis-specific micro-needle is set, and precise Rejuran Healer injections are carried out using the PRESS (precision injection device) with a pain control algorithm.

After the procedure, we perform premium LDM (MED tri) or plasma care, and provide the authentic Rejuran box and syringe directly. Finally, recovery prescriptions to prevent inflammation are included.

My one and only rule

Even for a single session of Rejuran, we add expertise to every stage, from the pre-procedure diagnosis to analysis during the procedure, to post-procedure regeneration care. We perform a second diagnosis based on scientific analysis data, and we design and perform the procedure ourselves.

Rejuran is not just a simple injection. We believe it should be treated as a therapy designed like a project. Since our patients have gone through the effort to come to Korea, we will do our best so they receive excellent treatment and achieve fundamental skin improvement before returning home.
