Cyan Photo Studio Seongsu | Our Visit

Today I visited Cyan Photo Studio Seongsu to take an ID photo and a profile photo.
'Cyan Photo Studio' is well known among Koreans for offering good-quality results at reasonable prices.
It's often mentioned as a place where you can get a profile shooting without stress.
It’s located in Seongsu, so it was easy to stop by during my trip!
The first thing I noticed when I stepped into the studio was how clean and well-organized it felt.
The whole space was bright and neatly arranged, so it felt comfortable and not cramped at all.
It was actually more spacious than I expected, and there were plenty of chairs for waiting.
Because of that, I could relax comfortably while getting ready or waiting briefly before and after the shooting.
There’s a separate powder room, and the space is fairly spacious.
Before the shooting, it didn’t feel cramped when tidying up makeup or fixing hair, and the space was roomy enough that several people could use it comfortably, so we could get ready pleasantly.
There’s a separate wardrobe, so it’s convenient to hang the clothes you brought.
There were plenty of hangers available, so if you brought outfits for the shooting you could hang them up in advance and pick from them, and you didn’t have to put them on the floor, so everything stayed neatly organized.
Basic hair tools like a hair dryer, flat iron, and brush are provided,
They stock contact lens cases, cotton swabs, bobby pins, hairpins, and hairspray.
You don’t need to bring anything special, they’ll take care of basic hair and makeup touch-ups, so you can visit without prior preparation and still be comfortable.
We officially started the shooting!
Our editor was new to profile shooting and felt awkward posing and making expressions, so the photographer asked which side of their face they liked better, then found the best angle for each side.
They coach you step by step on everything from posture to eye direction and facial expression, so when they say 'try this,' you just follow along.
You didn’t have to worry alone, they kept guiding my direction so I could shoot much more comfortably.
The profile package lets you freely shoot a variety of angles and poses, including front and side views, and you can use some props as well.

They carefully check your outfit and each strand of hair during the shooting, and when something needs fixing they don’t just tell you, they fix it by hand.
So I felt like they kept an eye on me without me having to worry, and they took care of even the smallest details, so the shooting was much more comfortable.
Thanks to this kind of detailed care, the results seemed cleaner too.

Our editor needed an ID photo, so they also had an ID photo package shot.
ID photo package only allows proper, straight-on poses for shooting.
Because the background and composition are set to specific standards, it’s done in a slightly more formal style than a regular profile shoot.
After finishing the photo shooting, there’s time to select the photos together.
We look through each shot together to pick which photos turned out best.
The originals were already so well taken that I had a hard time deciding which photos to choose.
The photographer recommended shots based on my expression, eye contact, and facial balance, so it was much easier to decide than choosing on my own.

After choosing photos together, wait about 5–10 minutes and they’ll show you the retouching results right away.
Then check if there are any parts you want to revise further, and apply any needed changes right away.
The retouching was done subtly and naturally, preserving my original facial features while making the overall look cleaner.
They handled the retouching well without any extra requests, so I had nothing to worry about at all.
Once the final retouching is approved, they print the photos right there, so you can finish everything in one visit without having to come back.
The printed photos had good paper quality and were sharp, so they’d be great not only for profiles but also as travel mementos.

I'll introduce the profile photo package options!
The profile photo package includes one 5×7-inch frame, eight 3.5×4.5 cm prints, and one card photo.
You get a range of sizes suitable for profile photos, plus smaller prints that fit in your wallet or card case, so it’s a very versatile package.
The photos are placed in a tin case, and an envelope is also provided.
So there was no need for extra packaging, it was easy to carry as is, and I could store the photos without worrying about them getting creased during the trip.

The ID photo package includes one 3x5 inch frame, eight 3.5x4.5 cm prints, and one card photo.
The size is great for documents like a resident ID or certificates, so after receiving it I think I'll use it a lot going forward.

Our editor liked another shot from the profile photo session, so they paid extra and picked one more image!
Everything turned out great, it was hard to pick just one, so I loved that you could choose extra shots.
Additional items were provided as a paper frame plus a PDF file, so the digital file could be used immediately for profile purposes.
For reference, extra photos do not include 3.5×4.5cm printed copies.

Today I finished both the ID photo package and a profile photo shoot at Cyan Photo Studio Seongsu.
Most of the needed supplies were already provided, and during the shooting they kept checking details like poses, expressions, and clothing, so it went a lot more smoothly without me having to ask.
The package was well put together, and I was able to finish the shooting, retouching, and printing all at once, so I was overall very satisfied.
Above all, considering the level of composition and quality, the price felt reasonable, so I thought it was a good value for money!
